Get Schooled — Chapter 108¶
Complete Detailed Panel-by-Panel Transcription¶
Scope¶
This transcript covers all 27 ordered images. Printed English is preserved, including translation quirks. Korean sound lettering is described through the depicted action.
Han-rim’s hostage bargain¶
The chapter resumes with Han-rim pinning the cult leader to the ground, a broken pen lodged beside his carotid artery.
DON’T MOVE!
IF I TAKE THIS OUT, HE DIES!
She mocks his arrogance.
AND HERE I WAS, JUST ABOUT TO SWORD DANCE WITH THIS PEN.
BUT I DIDN’T EXPECT YOU TO COME SO CLOSE, PASTOR.
THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU THINK YOU’RE ABOVE EVERYONE.
She orders the followers to release her and take Ju-hee for medical treatment.
HEY.
RELEASE ME.
AND TAKE THAT CHILD TO THE HOSPITAL!
A cultist cuts Han-rim’s restraints. Ju-hee, unconscious and badly injured, is loaded into a vehicle. Han-rim refuses to release the pastor immediately.
THAT’S ALL, RIGHT? NOW LET ME GO…
NAH~ NOT JUST YET.
I’LL RELEASE YOU AFTER I CONFIRM THE SAFETY OF THE CHILD.
A phone video or photograph shows Ju-hee in a hospital bed with dressings and an IV.
NOW~ IS THAT ALL?
SHE’S BEING TREATED AT A HOSPITAL!
The followers demand their leader back. Han-rim removes the pen only after obtaining confirmation.
NOW FREE THE PASTOR!
YES… NOW RETURN THE BALL PEN…
YOU DON’T WANT BE A KILLER, DO YOU?
Han-rim pauses, answers lightly, and releases him.
YEAH~
SEE YOU.
A controlled arterial injury¶
The pastor scrambles away, clutching his neck and screaming that he will die. Blood spurts dramatically, but then slows.
AHHHHHK! I’M GONNA DIE!
B-BLOOD!
H-HUH?
THE BLEEDING STOPPED?
He realizes Han-rim did not fully sever the artery. She had placed the point precisely enough to control him without killing him.
Han-rim immediately attacks again. She twists his head, punches his face with a bright impact burst, and breaks or stamps his leg.
DON’T WORRY… SCUM LIKE YOU…
WON’T GET TO GO SO EASILY!
The pastor howls as bone cracks.
AHHHHK! M-MY KNEE!
Han-rim explains the boundary the cult crossed.
THE COUNTRY MAY GIVE RELIGIOUS GROUPS A LOT OF FREEDOM,
BUT HURTING KIDS IS CROSSING THE LINE.
I ASSURE YOU, OUT OF ALL THE OPPONENTS I’VE FACED,
YOU WILL SUFFER THE MOST.
She picks up a long metal pole or broken implement.
THE REST OF YOU AS WELL!
Han-rim withdraws mercy from the adult believers¶
Han-rim had previously regarded the congregation as victims of manipulation. Watching parents beat their own daughter changes that judgment.
UNTIL NOW, I CONSIDERED YOU ALL AS VICTIMS.
HOWEVER, BY LETTING YOURSELF BE FOOLED AND EVEN HURTING YOUR OWN BLOOD, YOU’RE NOT DIFFERENT FROM HIM…
I WON’T SHOW YOU ANY MERCY!
She launches into the adult crowd. The pole sweeps through bodies in broad arcs; fists and elbows follow. Blood and Korean impact lettering fill successive action panels. Adults are knocked backward, doubled over, and thrown into one another. Han-rim fights despite her torn shirt, open wounds, exhaustion, and blood loss.
One cultist screams about a “bone,” while others scatter. Han-rim remains upright in the center of the field with the pole in hand.
Children in the greenhouse¶
The chapter briefly shifts to the cult’s greenhouse or agricultural area. Several children crouch in the soil, studying a worm and laughing.
HEHE~ IT’S A WURM~
HEHE~ THE WURM IS SO FUNNY~
A bespectacled older child corrects the pronunciation:
HAH… YOU UNEDUCATED FOOL. IT’S NOT “WURM,” IT’S WORM.
The scene illustrates their neglected schooling through a mundane spelling correction.
An adult cultist rushes in and interprets their gathering as disobedient play.
WE WEREN’T PLAYING!
THAT’S RIGHT! A WURM SUDDENLY…!
He orders them to arm themselves.
W-WHATEVER!
PICK UP YOUR SICKLE AND HEAD TO THE SCHOOL!
HURRY AND DEFEAT THE CRIMSON WITCH…!
Han-rim suddenly appears behind him, smiling through blood and dirt. The adult freezes.
YOU’RE THE LAST ONE LEFT!
The pastor attempts one final mass command¶
Although beaten, the pastor orders the children not to hesitate.
DON’T JUST STAND AROUND! THAT’S THE CRIMSON WITCH!
LORD’S NEW TESTAMENT CHAPTER 3, VERSE 37–39!
The children mechanically begin repeating fragments:
LORD’S NEW TESTAMENT CHAPTER 3, VERSE 37–39…
THE DEVIL WHO ESCAPED FROM HELL…
They raise sickles and rush Han-rim.
She looks directly at them. The next impact sequence sends the children and their tools flying, but the art emphasizes disarming and scattering rather than maiming them: sickles spin through the air while small bodies land in piles or roll across the ground.
The pastor uses the chaos to flee down a lane between buildings.
The “son of God” runs for his life¶
Han-rim notices and taps a sickle blade or tool against her head before giving chase. The pastor looks over his shoulder, terrified.
THIS CAN’T BE!
I’M THE SON OF THE LORD!
MY VERY BODY IS BLESSED BY THE LORD!
THERE’S NO WAY…
I CAN FALL TO THE LIKES OF A WITCH LIKE HER!
A thrown or swung object hits his back. Blood sprays and he crashes face-first onto the road.
Still crawling, he reaches one hand toward the sky.
O LORD, YOUR SON IS BEING PERSECUTED…
SHOW US A MIRACLE!
GIVE ME SALVATION…
A motorcycle engine approaches. The pastor’s expression brightens in desperate expectation.
A motorcycle then runs directly over or strikes him as he lies in the road, throwing his body aside.
Hwa-jin arrives as the “miracle”¶
The pastor lies flattened and bleeding. In his delirium, he interprets the arrival as divine fulfillment.
IT’S A MIRACLE…
HE IS RECORDED IN THE LORD’S NEW TESTAMENT…
THE FIRST MESSIAH!
The “messiah” is revealed to be Na Hwa-jin, standing over the scene in his black suit after arriving by motorcycle. He looks around at the bloodied pastor, injured cultists, scattered children, and exhausted Han-rim.
WHAT’S GOING ON?
The chapter ends on Hwa-jin’s baffled expression: his rescue arrival has been absorbed into the pastor’s delusion rather than breaking it.
