Scope¶
This transcript covers all 17 ordered images in Chapter 111. It includes the anniversary montage, updates on earlier cases, and the setup for the next season’s antagonist.
One year of the Teachers’ Rights Agency¶
The chapter opens as a news-style retrospective marking the first anniversary of the Teachers’ Rights Agency. Narration summarizes the agency’s public record:
THE TEACHER’S RIGHTS AGENCY WHICH WAS FORMED TO FIGHT INEQUALITY WITHIN EDUCATION COMMEMORATES THE FIRST YEAR SINCE ITS FORMATION.
Images recall earlier missions: exposing Representative Ryu Kwang-pil’s connection to school violence and teacher-rights violations, and dismantling the cult that confined and indoctrinated children.
IN TOTAL, THEY HAVE SOLVED 51 CASES OF TEACHING RIGHTS INFRINGEMENT.
The report acknowledges the agency’s unconventional methods and repeated use of violence while solving cases. Students discuss the organization in classrooms and hallways. Some treat it as proof that school bullies can no longer assume teachers are powerless; others exchange rumors that a new overseer may be appointed.
IT’S BEEN A YEAR SINCE THE TEACHER’S RIGHTS AGENCY WAS FORMED.
SHOULDN’T EVERYONE KNOW THAT THE AGENCY IS THE REAL DEAL?
APPARENTLY THE AGENCY IS GETTING A NEW OVERSEER?
HUH? THAT’S RIDICULOUS. WHY MAKE SUCH A CHANGE?!
Narration says that whether or not the agency directly caused the decline in violations, it created a deterrent: students began believing that crossing the line might bring the agency to their school.
The chapter then asks what became of people from earlier cases.
Kim Hyeong-ju begins work at a major company¶
Kim Hyeong-ju, dressed in a suit, stands outside a large electric-car corporation. Friends ambush him with confetti.
BAMBARAM!
CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR FIRST DAY OF WORK!
YOUR ENTRY INTO A MEGA-CORPORATION HAS LEFT US IN A SENSE OF AWE!
Hyeong-ju is embarrassed by the attention. One friend jokes that he could also have joined a major company if not for gambling; another points out that he lost roughly a billion won.
A more serious friend congratulates Hyeong-ju and says he may be the most successful graduate from their school. Hyeong-ju downplays the achievement as specialized high-school recruitment, noting the low starting salary and difficult promotion path.
The others promise to join him later. One shakes his hand and says the company is also his goal.
I DON’T KNOW WHEN WE’LL MEET AGAIN, BUT WHEN WE DO
I’LL CALL YOU SUNBAE.
The update shows the former student moving into stable adulthood rather than being defined forever by the school crisis.
Teacher Go Yeong-su’s wife visits a detained runaway¶
At a juvenile detention or youth-correction facility, a young woman in an orange-and-gray uniform sits behind glass. Teacher Go Yeong-su’s wife visits her.
The girl nervously greets her and insists that her cooperation with the agency was not extraordinary.
N-NOT AT ALL!
I WAS SIMPLY COOPERATING WITH THE AGENCY TO HELP OTHER RUNAWAY STUDENTS…!
The older woman gives her a woven bag or handmade item and offers a principle for her future:
YOU HELP THOSE THAT ARE IN MORE NEED THAN YOU.
YOU’VE MADE MISTAKES IN THE PAST, BUT YOU’RE STILL YOUNG, SO YOU MUSTN’T WASTE YOUR YOUTH.
STOP LOOKING BACK TOWARDS YOUR PAST!
She has learned that the girl lost contact with her mother after the divorce. Before leaving, she promises:
WHEN YOU’RE DISCHARGED, COME VISIT ME.
I’LL AT LEAST MAKE YOU A MEAL.
The girl smiles through tears. The scene presents rehabilitation as sustained personal support, not merely punishment.
The village extortion culture begins to change¶
In another earlier case’s village, men again demand money from an outsider under the label of a town-development fund.
WHAT? YOU WANT 5 MILLION WON FOR THE TOWN DEVELOPMENT FUND?!
WHY SO SURPRISED? THIS IS ON THE CHEAP SIDE.
MR. LEE USED TO MAKE EVERYONE PAY 30 MILLION WON FOR IT!
They threaten to classify the person as an irresponsible citizen if he refuses. A large local man intervenes angrily.
WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!
I TOLD YOU TO STOP EXTORTING MONEY FROM PEOPLE OUTSIDE OF TOWN!
WANT A TASTE OF MY FIST?
The former enforcers retreat, showing that change has begun through internal resistance rather than permanent agency occupation.
Public criticism grows alongside the agency’s influence¶
A bespectacled writer types an article titled roughly:
IS IT TRULY SAFE TO LEAVE THE TEACHER’S RIGHTS AGENCY AS IT IS?
The article compares the office’s violent methods to abuses committed by the National Security Agency under the military dictatorship of the 1980s. The montage shows that the agency’s results have not eliminated legitimate concern about unchecked authority.
Other snapshots show earlier-case communities making incremental progress: gender-equality education at school, men learning respectful conduct in prison or rehabilitation programs, women rebuilding ordinary friendships, and a father reunited with his child after a government restraining order is lifted.
A boy happily agrees when his father asks:
DO YOU WANT TO LIVE WITH DADDY AGAIN?
MHM!
Han-rim is called back to work¶
Han-rim walks away from the reunion scene when Hwa-jin calls. He immediately screams through the phone:
YOU LITTLE SHIT! WHERE THE FUCK DID YOU HEAD OFF TO AFTER LEAVING, IM HAN LIM?!
WE HAVE A SHIT TON OF WORK PILED UP! YOU WANNA DIE?!
IF YOU DON’T CHECK IN WITHIN THE HOUR YOU’LL BE CONSIDERED ABSENT!
Han-rim answers with military obedience:
AH, UNDERSTOOD.
As Hwa-jin walks away, he reflects that he once expected the agency to be shut down within months.
SHEESH~ I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE SHUT DOWN IN A FEW MONTHS
BUT IT’S ALREADY BEEN OVER A YEAR.
I DON’T KNOW WHEN THIS WILL ALL END…
BUT, WELL… I GUESS I’LL TRY MY BEST TILL THEN.
The white background isolates him, making the statement feel like the conclusion of the series’ first major phase.
Prison meeting — Choi Ga-yoon’s fiancé¶
The tone shifts to a prison meeting room. A long-haired, heavily muscular inmate sits shirtless across from a younger prisoner in a blue uniform. The muscular man is addressed as President and is identified as having been a branch manager in Incheon.
The younger inmate explains that a “four-eyes overseer” told him the agency removed the group from a previous situation. He has finally located the man the president ordered them to find:
THE ONE THAT YOU ORDERED US TO FIND,
CHOI GA YOON’S FIANCÉE.
APPARENTLY HE WORKS FOR THE TEACHER’S RIGHT AGENCY.
The president asks what the fiancé looks like. Another inmate searches online and shows him a photograph of Na Hwa-jin.
IT’S THIS PERSON.
The long-haired man stares at the image, sensing recognition.
HUH…?
I FEEL LIKE I’VE SEEN HIM BEFORE… WHERE HAVE I SEEN HIM?
Recognition arrives. His eyes widen, then he erupts into uncontrollable laughter.
AH…!
PUHAHAHAHA! KHAHAHAHA!
SO IT WAS HIM!
THAT FUCKING COUNSELLOR!
The final image shows Hwa-jin in profile with a cigarette, unaware that a dangerous figure from Choi Ga-yoon’s past has identified him.
A title card announces the end of the first season.
