Scope¶
This transcription follows all 25 ordered reader images in Chapter 124. It concludes Gu Sera’s first mission, explains the students’ sudden testimony against Lee Chiho, transfers him into the environment Sera selected, and begins Hyun Daniel’s first case.
Sequence 1 — Hospitalized after the first mission¶
Sera lies in a hospital bed after being stabbed. Her supervisor sighs that Sera managed to be hospitalized on her very first mission. Doctors estimate three weeks for full recovery.
Sera salutes with the wrong hand, announces that she is already better, and tries to leave. Her senior asks what she is doing and reminds her that a knife wound cannot heal in one day.
Sera claims that applying saliva will be enough because the blade missed her organs. She adds that healing power is another internal ability of her family.
The supervisor rejects the absurd explanation. Sera finally gives the real reason for her urgency: if she does not return quickly, Chiho may recover his authority. She only just disciplined him, and hospitalization could make the victory appear temporary.
I AM JUST RETURNING QUICKLY AND STANDING STRONG IN MY POSITION.
Her senior says there is no need to worry.
Sequence 2 — Chiho is in worse condition¶
Chiho suffered four broken ribs and requires at least a month in the hospital, with two or three months for full recovery. Sera brightens and says she remembers feeling something break.
The contrast is played comedically: Sera, the stabbed victim, is trying to leave after one day, while the attacker remains hospitalized from her counterattack.
The senior then reports a more important change. From the previous night through that morning, messages began flooding the Teacher’s Rights Protection Agency website.
Sequence 3 — The silent students begin reporting¶
Students who had previously remained silent submit detailed accounts of Chiho’s extortion, assaults, threats, gambling collections, and weapon use. Several messages explain that everyone knew what he did but no one dared report because he ruled the school through fear.
Sera understands why the atmosphere changed. Her public humiliation of Chiho showed every student that the “tyrant” was only another child.

She explains that she did intend to discipline him, but the primary audience was the witnesses. Her purpose was to reveal that the opponent they feared was a good-for-nothing rather than an invincible monster.
The reason Chiho chased her with a knife was also social. He sensed that the school atmosphere was changing. For a person like him, losing his position is worse than dying.
Sequence 4 — Expulsion is not enough¶
The accumulated reports are sufficient to summon Chiho to the school-violence committee. A Level 9 punishment—expulsion—appears guaranteed.
Sera argues that expulsion is wrong. Releasing a dangerous student into the street merely moves the harm elsewhere, while transferring him to an ordinary school endangers new victims.
She proposes a different destination: a school so violent that it can “turn psychopaths into priests.”
Sequence 5 — Transfer to Gangsan High¶
Chiho arrives at Gangsan High believing he has escaped Sera and found a new hunting ground. The students immediately mock him for using that language.
They say the “water” here is different. Three trips to juvenile detention are not impressive; approximately fifty students at Gangsan have comparable records.
The group’s leader is identified as Shin Jongsoo, twenty years old and previously imprisoned for two years—the same delinquent Sera described as “Shitty Fella.” He says the order came from the Empress, Gu Sera: they are to turn Chiho into a decent human being.
Jongsoo warns Chiho not to attempt absence or dropout. If he submits withdrawal papers, they will burn down his house. The threat is deliberately extreme and mirrors the authoritarian language Chiho once used against weaker students.
The transfer is an “auto battle”: Sera has placed the defeated tyrant among peers who will not respond to his juvenile record with fear. She predicts that within six months he will no longer dare act like a psychopath.
Sequence 6 — Evaluation of Gu Sera¶
Back at the agency, Sera asks whether her internship is over and whether she will be promoted to permanent employee. Her senior avoids giving a direct answer and notes that she is not responsible for human resources.
The supervising agents summarize Sera’s strengths and risks. She is young, immature, and extreme, but she understands the students’ perspective better than the older staff. She will require substantial effort and supervision.
They decide to continue watching her rather than reject her immediately.
Sequence 7 — Hyun Daniel’s first mission¶
The chapter transitions to a quiet location where Hwa-jin accompanies Hyun Daniel. Hwa-jin asks how Daniel feels about their first Teacher’s Rights Protection Agency mission and confirms that Daniel understands a supervisor’s authority.
Daniel has two things to say. First, he dislikes his English name and asks to be called Hyun rather than Daniel.
Second, he understands that agency supervisors may impose corporal punishment, but he states his own operating principle:
BUT I WON’T USE VIOLENCE.
Hwa-jin regards him with interest. The contrast with Sera is immediate: her first mission depended on overwhelming physical domination, while Hyun begins his by rejecting violence altogether.
End-of-chapter continuity note¶
Chapter 124 completes Sera’s mission by showing that the decisive result was not Chiho’s injuries but the students’ willingness to report once his aura collapsed. Her solution remains ethically provocative: instead of expulsion, she transfers him into Gangsan High’s brutal peer discipline. The final pages hand the narrative to Hyun Daniel, whose refusal to use violence promises a sharply different test of the agency’s methods.

- Sera’s hospital comedy never erases the wound’s seriousness: bandages cover her torso, and the doctor’s three-week estimate remains the formal medical judgment.
- The website reports arrive only after Chiho is defeated in front of students. Their timing confirms that proof of his vulnerability—not new knowledge of his crimes—caused the silence to break.
- Sera distinguishes expulsion from protection. Expulsion removes a school’s administrative problem but may release the danger onto people with even less support.
- Gangsan students casually compare juvenile records and mock Chiho’s résumé. The social currency that frightened his old classmates has no value there.
