WHY HAVE THEY TIED UP HYUNMIN?!
She immediately returns to the exam:
HE NEEDS TO STUDY QUICKLY!

The flashback shows hospital staff trying to stop Hyunmin from studying.

Hyunmin fights against the adults:

His eyes are unfocused and his body is shaking. He screams:
I CAN’T UNDERSTAND ANYTHING IN THE TEXTBOOKS EVEN THOUGH THE COLLEGE ENTRANCE EXAM IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER!
MY BRAIN FEELS LIKE IT’S BEEN RESET!

At the hospital, Hyunmin wakes in panic:

I KNEW EVERYTHING, BUT NOW I CAN’T REMEMBER ANYTHING!

His mother approaches the bed. Instead of handing him books, she says:
AFTER WAKING UP,
LET’S THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU WANT TO DO, OTHER THAN GOING TO MEDICAL SCHOOL.
Hyunmin stares at her as though she is hallucinating.

Final sequence — A familiar supervisor returns¶
At Seongju International Airport, an arrival board lists international destinations including Pudong, Shenyang, and Narita.
A tall young man with pale silver hair walks through the terminal pulling a large suitcase. He wears glasses, a brown jacket, jeans, and white shoes.
The camera moves to his face, revealing Daniel Hyun.

Chapter-level continuity notes¶
Hyunmin’s restraints are protective, not disciplinary¶
His mother interprets the restraints as interference with study. The flashback shows that he was actively trying to hurt himself because cognitive side effects made him believe his future had disappeared.
The mother’s ambition is rooted in resentment toward her own life¶
She believes her parents failed by not choosing a path for her. Na’s response is that she has converted regret into intergenerational control. Her child cannot be assigned the task of repairing her biography.
Na distinguishes external circumstances from another person’s dream¶
Na entered the military academy because poverty narrowed his options, but he researched the institution and chose a path that would make him independent. Hyunmin, by contrast, is forced toward medical school because his mother wants the status attached to it.
Rest becomes evidence of abuse¶
Hyunmin falls asleep the moment permission is granted. The scene makes clear that the mother did not merely encourage long hours; she trained him to interpret basic sleep as failure.
The arc ends by widening the frame¶
Even after Hyunmin is protected, another overdose reaches the hospital. Statistics about prescriptions and illegal sales show that the competitive education system continues producing demand for dangerous shortcuts.
Daniel’s arrival bridges into the next arc¶
Daniel’s return at the airport follows his introduction in Chapter 125 and signals that the Teachers’ Rights Protection Agency’s mixed-race supervisor will rejoin the active storyline.
