Reader Images 001–003 — Sera accuses Hyuntae of exploiting children¶
Sera stands over Seo Hyuntae after refusing to beat the unconscious debtor.
IT REALLY PISSES ME OFF THAT YOU MANIPULATE THESE CLUELESS KIDS AND MAKE THEM DO STUPID THINGS…
Hyuntae, still crouched and recovering from her attack, says he thought age might have softened her.
BUT I THOUGHT YOU MIGHT HAVE CHANGED A BIT AS YOU GOT OLDER, YET YOU’RE STILL LIVING SO FRUSTRATINGLY…
He argues that his organization gives direction to students who would otherwise be lost.
WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING NOW IF I HADN’T TAKEN YOU IN? AFTER GRADUATING FROM A SCHOOL LIKE OURS, WHAT ELSE WOULD YOU DO IF NOT THIS?
Sera dismisses the supposed rescue.
THAT ISN’T SOMETHING YOU NEED TO WORRY ABOUT!
She challenges him to stand.
AND WHAT? YOU WANT ME TO FINISH IT OFF?
Hyuntae rises in fury:
GET UP, YOU CUNT! YOU’RE DEAD MEAT TODAY!
He says she has destroyed the greatest opportunity of her life by rejecting him. Sera admits she knew the confrontation would come to this.
Hyuntae reveals that the debtor was not the only person being tested.
YOU KNOW, THIS ISN’T AN INTERVIEW FOR THEM, BUT A TEST FOR YOU, GU SERA.
He stamps or crushes near her bloodied shoe as the surrounding gang closes in.
Reader Images 004–006 — Hyuntae reveals a modified airsoft gun¶
Hyuntae draws a handgun and points it directly at Sera. She is startled but remains low and balanced.
He mocks her inability to anticipate the trap:
ANYWAY… IT’S NO DOUBT YOU’RE FROM KANGSAN HIGH, SINCE YOU DON’T USE YOUR BRAIN AT ALL.
Sera answers that she did not enter the operation without preparation.
HEY, DID YOU THINK I CAME HERE TO TEST YOU WITHOUT ANY PREPARATION?
Hyuntae fires. A dark red pellet is shown spinning through the air.
EXCEPT…
I SWITCHED THE PELLETS TO SOMETHING A BIT HARDER.
He identifies the weapon:
AN AIRSOFT GUN WITH METAL PELLETS…
Although not a real firearm, he warns that at close range the metal pellets can penetrate skin and that a head shot could be fatal.
Sera crouches and shields her face as multiple shots strike her legs and body. Dark, bloody marks bloom across her trousers.
She asks whether the gun is real. Hyuntae laughs and confirms it is an airsoft gun deliberately modified to inflict serious injury.
The title card appears amid the shooting.
Reader Images 007–010 — Sera fights through the pellets¶
Hyuntae continues firing.
IT WILL HURT LIKE HELL, JUST LIKE A REAL BULLET.
IT WILL EASILY PIERCE YOUR SKIN, AND IF IT HITS YOUR HEAD, YOU COULD EVEN DIE.
Sera cries out as pellets strike her thigh and lower body. Nevertheless, she bursts forward and punches a man who approaches from the side.
She slips beneath another attack and drives a counter into the attacker’s face or torso. Blood sprays across the panel.
Hyuntae orders the gang to take over:
AH, FEEL LIKE PASSING OUT ALREADY?
GUYS, I’VE SEASONED IT UP…
TAKE CARE OF THE REST.
Several gang members rush her with fists and improvised weapons. One grabs her from behind, but Sera throws or strikes him away. Another receives a direct punch that caves his cheek and sends blood outward.
The men begin to realize that the shots have not disabled her.
WHAT? HE’S NOT DOWN YET?
The gender error is retained from the scanlation; the speaker is reacting to Sera’s refusal to fall.
Reader Images 011–013 — Sera’s legs become weapons¶
Hyuntae watches as his plan fails.
NOT GOING AS YOU PLANNED, RIGHT?
Sera’s lower body is covered with dark pellet wounds, yet she continues moving. She launches powerful kicks and rotational attacks into the group.
Hyuntae remembers something she used to say in school:
YOU USED TO SAY THIS BACK IN SCHOOL.
FIGHTING ISN’T JUST ABOUT FISTS.
He recognizes that her lower body plays an enormous role in her style. Sera uses a sweeping kick, knee, hip throw, or full-body rotation to knock multiple men aside. One man’s head whips backward in a burst of blood.
Hyuntae decides he will have to finish her personally.
ALRIGHT, SINCE I’VE GOT THE ANGLE, I’LL FINISH YOU OFF MYSELF…
But as he looks across the warehouse, his cigarette and mouth tremble. Nearly every man between them is already down.
Reader Images 014–016 — Hyuntae tries to break her confidence¶
Sera drops to one knee, breathing heavily. Sweat, blood, and pellet injuries cover her face and legs.
Hyuntae keeps his distance and talks instead of approaching.
THE MORE I THINK ABOUT IT, THE MORE I REALIZE… WITH STRENGTH LIKE YOURS, YOU COULD DOMINATE THIS ENTIRE AREA WITHOUT EVEN BEING PART OF A MAJOR GANG…
Then he attacks her character:
BUT WHAT TO DO?
YOUR PERSONALITY IS ROTTEN!
Sera answers quietly:
YEAH, YOU’RE RIGHT…
I READ IN A MANHWA ONCE, THAT PERSONALITY DECIDES YOUR DESTINY…
She acknowledges that if she had closed her eyes and followed orders, she might have lived more comfortably.
IF I HAD JUST CLOSED MY EYES AND FOLLOWED YOUR ORDERS, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN FINE…
NO MATTER HOW HARD IT WAS TO ENDURE, I SHOULD’VE STUCK WITH THE MISSION, BUT WITH THIS DAMN PERSONALITY OF MINE…
Hyuntae calls her charitable temperament useless and says she is destined to live as a slave and die worthless.
Sera lifts her head:
BUT ONE THING’S FOR SURE,
I HAVE MORE DIGNITY THAN A COWARD LIKE YOU.
Hyuntae flinches.
WHAT…? COWARD?
Reader Images 017–019 — Hyuntae’s imagined performance of authority¶
Sera points out that even with her legs battered, she defeated roughly half his men.
Hyuntae calls the display worthy of Gangsan’s former empress, but his internal thoughts reveal fear. He imagines gathering everyone and demonstrating control in front of the organization.
In the fantasy, members admire his modified airsoft gun:
OOOH! AN AIRSOFT GUN? AWESOME~!
They praise him and claim the organization would be unstoppable if Sera joined. Hyuntae imagines ordering her around, shooting her with metal pellets if she disobeys, and presenting himself as thoroughly prepared.
He imagines the recruits agreeing that he is a brilliant boss. But the internal narration exposes the truth: he believes he must defeat Sera publicly to preserve his image. Even after she is injured and surrounded, he is too afraid to approach.
BUT I’M STILL SO SCARED OF SERA!
THAT’S WHY I’M JUST STANDING FAR AWAY AND RUNNING MY MOUTH OFF.
A question cuts through the fantasy:
IS THAT COWARD STILL YOUR ROLE MODEL?
The younger gang members glance uneasily toward Hyuntae.
Reader Images 020–021 — Sera attacks the boss again¶
Hyuntae curses her.
THIS FUCKING BITCH…
Sera crouches beside him as though completely exhausted. She says she intended to stop for old times’ sake, but points out that he is foolish enough to fall for the most obvious provocation.
Hyuntae realizes too late that she deliberately called him a coward because she knew he would move closer to defend his reputation.
I DIDN’T COME CLOSER BECAUSE I WAS SCARED?!
THIS KIND OF PROVOCATION!
Sera grabs him, sweeps his leg, or drives him into the floor. Hyuntae crashes onto his back with Sera positioned over him.
AAAAGH!!
She looks toward the teenage recruits and asks:
NOW, DO YOU GUYS UNDERSTAND THAT BEING A GANGSTER ISN’T ALL THAT IMPRESSIVE?
FROM NOW ON, I’LL SHOW YOU THE FATE OF A GANGSTER.
Hyuntae, humiliated on the floor, screams at the remaining boys:
WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! YOU IDIOTS!
HURRY UP AND FINISH HER OFF!!
The recruits hesitate. Sera has exposed that the boss who taught them to worship power is using children as a shield.
Reader Image 022 — Hanrim has arrived¶
A final group of boys edges into the warehouse. Hyuntae shouts:
THAT BITCH IS EXHAUSTED! DON’T BE AFRAID!
JUST HURRY UP AND KILL HER!
The viewpoint pulls back through the doorway. A woman in a black suit steps silently into the building behind them.
From the back, her red hair identifies her as Hanrim. She has reached the scene and is watching the underage recruits being ordered to kill Sera.

Chapter-level continuity notes¶
Hyuntae’s “test” is built around fear and spectacle¶
He modifies an airsoft gun, surrounds Sera with members, and keeps himself at distance. The plan is less about defeating her than staging a public demonstration that preserves his status as the strongest person in the room.
Sera’s fighting style depends on the whole body¶
Even after metal pellets damage her thighs and legs, she uses kicks, rotations, throws, and lower-body leverage. Hyuntae remembers that this was already central to her school fighting philosophy.
Sera knowingly sacrifices her cover¶
She understands that disobeying the initiation order could terminate her internship. Her decision rests on dignity: keeping the mission would require participating in the gang’s dehumanization of a helpless victim.
Hyuntae’s power collapses when his fear becomes visible¶
His imagined future has recruits admiring him, but his real behavior is to stand away, shoot from safety, and order children forward. Sera’s “coward” provocation succeeds because his reputation cannot tolerate the accusation.
The minors are being trained as shields¶
The chapter ends with Hyuntae ordering teenage recruits to kill an exhausted adult on his behalf. This provides direct evidence of the central TRPA concern: minors are not merely imitating gangsters but are being commanded to commit serious violence for senior criminals.
Hanrim’s arrival changes the balance¶
Sera is injured and surrounded, but Hanrim has witnessed the order. The next chapter can turn the undercover operation into an official intervention while preserving evidence of Hyuntae’s recruitment and command structure.
