The chapter depicts a knowingly false school-violence accusation used as an educational reversal, social humiliation, suicidal ideation, a planned ambush, and combat involving teenage kickboxers.
Strips 001–003 — Giryong returns injured and is reported¶
Kim Giryong returns to school on crutches.
His face is bruised, and his ankle is fractured.
He thinks in disbelief:
SHE HIT ME ONLY ONCE, YET MY ANKLE IS FRACTURED…?
Students stare as he passes.
Daniel, still operating at the school as a teacher, tells him:
YOU ARE ASKED TO COME TO THE COUNSELING OFFICE.
Inside, Giryong learns that the undercover transfer student Sera has filed a school-violence complaint against him.
He reacts:
SERA REPORTED ME FOR SCHOOL VIOLENCE?!
Strips 004–005 — Sera’s deliberately false statement¶
The chapter reproduces Sera’s report through childish drawings and exaggerated narration.
She claims that while walking home from school in a cheerful mood after playing at a PC café, she happened to see Giryong beating Jungtaek brutally.
In the illustrated version, Sera becomes an innocent moral witness.
VIOLENCE IS THE WORST THING IN THE WORLD!
She tells Giryong to stop immediately and apologize to his friend.
The caricatured Giryong answers:
VIOLENCE IS THE MOST FUN THING TO DO!
The statement is intentionally absurd. Sera is not trying to produce a subtle lie; she is recreating the kind of narrative inversion Giryong used against Jungtaek.
Strips 006–008 — The school accepts the imbalance of appearances¶
Because a school-violence report has been filed, Giryong and Sera must be separated.
The class president or school staff tells Giryong to move his belongings to another classroom and wait for notice of the committee hearing.
Giryong protests:
I’M THE ONE WHO GOT HIT! I WAS HIT!
DON’T YOU SEE THESE CRUTCHES?!
The teacher responds that he may file his own report if he feels wronged.
The social optics are devastating.
Sera is a girl around 160 centimeters tall. Giryong is a muscular boy in the 180-centimeter range. Classmates find it absurd that she could fracture his ankle so badly.
Rumors spread:
KIM GIRYONG IS SERIOUSLY A SCUMBAG. HE KNEE-KICKED A GIRL!
Students say his crutches are another performance designed to make Sera look responsible.
Some begin reconsidering the earlier mutual-assault ruling with Jungtaek:
WHAT IF HE WAS THE ONE BEHIND IT ALL?
This time the suspicion is correct, but it is still being produced through a false report.
Strips 009–011 — Jungtaek now possesses proof¶
Jungtaek confronts Giryong with new confidence.
The transfer student obtained video of Giryong beating him.
Jungtaek has also preserved records of the money and valuables Giryong took.
GET READY!
I’M GONNA MAKE YOU PAY TWICE FOR EVERYTHING!
Giryong counters that Jungtaek tried to stab him with a knife.
Jungtaek tells him he is about to learn what it feels like when no one believes a word he says.
For the first time, Jungtaek can look Giryong in the eye and smile.
Giryong experiences the reversal as unbearable.
He sees classmates staring, teachers doubting him, Jungtaek smirking, and Sera existing as a “cheat code” whose appearance makes his account seem impossible.
His thoughts become obsessive:
FUCK! THIS IS ALL THAT BITCH’S FAULT!
He decides that if he removes Sera, the narrative may collapse.
Strips 012–13 — A note summons Sera to the underpass¶
Giryong hides a message in Sera’s desk drawer.
She finds it and wonders why anyone would arrange a meeting at a freezing underpass.
At night, she arrives and asks:
WHY DID YOU CALL ME HERE?
TO GET YOUR ASS KICKED?
Giryong has not come alone.
Several older teenage fighters emerge.
The trap is designed to take the video, punish Sera, and create proof that she is the violent one.
Strips 014–015 — Two kickboxers are introduced¶
Sera’s first exchange surprises the group.
One fighter compliments the power of her kicks.
Two senior gym members receive identification captions:
- Lee Sangguk, 17 — seven years of kickboxing experience, a welterweight semi-professional fighter.
- Kim Dalyoung, 17 — five years of kickboxing experience, a lightweight amateur with five recorded matches.
Giryong says these are his seniors from the gym and that some are close to becoming professional fighters.
He demands:
HAND OVER THE VIDEO OF YU JUNGTAEK TRYING TO STAB ME WITH A KNIFE.
The fighters tell Sera to surrender if she does not want to die.
Sera answers:
BRING IT ON.
Strips 016–17 — Giryong begins recording the ambush¶
The gym seniors mock the idea that they would hesitate to hit a girl.
The fight begins.
Sera evades an opening attack, blocks another, and answers with strikes powerful enough to surprise trained fighters.
Giryong watches from behind them.
He realizes that Sera may actually defeat the group.
Then he notices another possibility.
If he records the fight, he may finally obtain footage that proves Sera assaulted him and his companions.
He raises the phone and starts filming.
Strips 018–19 — Daniel enters the underpass¶
Sera continues fighting the older students.
Daniel arrives before the ambush can be converted into Giryong’s new evidence package.
Sera complains:
HEY, STAY OUT OF THIS! I DON’T NEED YOUR NON-VIOLENCE FOR THIS SCENE!
Daniel’s answer is characteristically dry. His nonviolent educational principle applies to students who require guidance, but that does not mean he must passively watch an organized ambush or allow trained attackers to create another false record.
He physically enters the confrontation and restrains one of the participants.
The exact final exchange is partially obscured by action effects, but the meaning is clear: Daniel does not intend to let Giryong control the framing of this incident.
The chapter closes with Daniel’s calm expression and the line:
APART FROM THAT CASE, I DON’T REALLY CARE ABOUT IT.
The “case” refers to his stated nonviolent method. Preventing an immediate assault is not the same as using violence as the lesson itself.
Chapter-level continuity notes¶
Daniel recreates Giryong’s own trap¶
A first report, plausible physical imbalance, institutional separation, and public rumor turn Giryong into the accused student whose truthful account sounds impossible.
The method is ethically troubling by design¶
Sera’s allegation is knowingly false. The chapter presents it as a controlled reversal intended to make Giryong experience the system he weaponized, not as an ordinary legal model to imitate.
Giryong quickly develops the same psychological symptoms as Jungtaek¶
Disbelief, humiliation, anger, isolation, and thoughts of destructive retaliation appear almost immediately.
Jungtaek’s evidence finally changes the balance¶
The recording and extortion records provide what his original report lacked. His knife attack remains a separate serious offense.
The underpass ambush repeats the old strategy¶
Giryong wants both physical revenge and video evidence that can reframe Sera as the offender.
Daniel separates intervention from punishment¶
He will use force to stop danger, but he rejects endless beating as the educational mechanism.
