The chapter contains organized-crime violence, knives, hostage-taking, threats of murder, and a government inspector raiding a gang stronghold alone.
Strips 001–002 — A personal report about G.Y.¶
At the Teachers’ Rights Protection Agency, Na Hwa-jin reads a report connected to the youth crime organization G.Y.
A red-haired woman asks whether the matter concerns everyone at the agency.
Na answers:
NO, THIS IS A PERSONAL MATTER.
The woman explains the origin of the organization’s name:
G.Y. IS NAMED AFTER THE INITIALS OF MY DEAD FIANCÉ.
She says G.Y.’s imprisoned boss, Jo Gyuchul, killed her fiancé.
The report therefore connects the current attacks on the agency with an older murder and a criminal organization built around the dead man’s initials.
Na says he will have to find out why the boss’s remaining followers are targeting him and whether the conflict is personal, institutional, or both.
The red-haired woman offers to help.
Na refuses to endanger her and leaves alone.
I’LL BE BACK.
She warns him not to take unnecessary risks.
Na answers that he will handle it.
Strip 003 — Na enters the G.Y. villa¶
Na reaches the luxurious villa being used by G.Y.
Masked and tattooed gang members gather in the halls.
A blue-haired man wearing reflective protective glasses lounges inside as though the raid is entertainment.
He laughs at the idea that a single inspector walked into a building filled with organized criminals.
Na asks whether he is the boss of the masked group.
The man says the organization expected an agency response and prepared accordingly.
Na does not attempt negotiation.
He steps forward.
Strips 004–006 — The action squad attacks¶
Dozens of masked youths rush Na with bats, pipes, knives, and improvised weapons.
The blue-haired man tells a female associate not to worry.
IT’S JUST SOME KIDS.
He believes the trap will exhaust Na through numbers even if individual attackers are weak.
Na knocks the first wave aside with direct punches, elbows, and throws.
He says people who do not respect parents, teachers, school rules, or ordinary law eventually gather in organizations like this because they believe numbers make them untouchable.
Several attackers attempt to strike from blind angles.
Na turns before each hit lands.
The blue-haired observer asks why Na is so difficult to surprise.
Strips 007–009 — Na’s combat awareness¶
Narration explains that Na once served as a company commander in Korea’s elite 707th Special Mission Group.
Repeated operations sharpened his ability to read:
- movement behind him,
- changes in foot pressure,
- weapon direction,
- the spacing between attackers,
- and the moment a hidden person commits to an ambush.
One masked fighter approaches with a knife and moves differently from the others.
Na recognizes that the man has genuine combat experience—possibly military, mercenary, or overseas security work.
The knife wielder expects Na to focus on the crowd.
Na catches the attacking arm, changes the angle, and drives the man into the floor.
Another attacker is thrown across the hall.
Bodies and broken furniture pile around the inspector.
Na walks upstairs while the surviving members hesitate to follow.
Strip 010 — The blue-haired commander realizes the ordinary trap failed¶
Na reaches the upper level covered in blood and dust but still standing.
The blue-haired man is shocked:
FUCK…! NOT EVEN A SCRATCH?!
Na asks:
ARE YOU THE BOSS OF THOSE MASKED GUYS?
I GOT A LOT OF QUESTIONS TO ASK.
The blue-haired man laughs rather than answering.
He says he assumed one of two things would happen:
- G.Y. would overwhelm Na with bodies,
- or Na would force his way upstairs and make himself vulnerable to a hostage trap.
Na’s expression shows that he expected the second option too.
Strip 011 — A ringing phone and a hidden final room¶
A phone rings inside the upper floor.
Na follows the sound.
The blue-haired man tells him that G.Y. prepared a “secret weapon” for exactly this situation.
The hallway is quieter than the rooms below.
Na enters with his attention fixed on the doorway, corners, and possible lines of attack.
The blue-haired commander remains confident because the final weapon is not another fighter.
Strip 012 — Minseo is used as a hostage¶
Inside the room, the blue-haired man holds a frightened young boy named Minseo.
A blade is pressed near the child while the captor hides behind him.
The man tells Na that one wrong movement will get the boy stabbed.
Na has brought or obtained a handgun during the raid and points it toward the captor.
The blue-haired man mocks the idea that a government education officer would shoot while a child is in the line of fire.
Na answers that children are not special shields simply because criminals choose to hide behind them.
He orders:
FIRST OFF, DROP THE BATON. NOW.
The captor hesitates, trying to determine whether the gun is real.
Na steps closer.
GOOD BOY~
YOU’RE BETTER THAN MY PET DOG~
The chapter ends with Na advancing toward the hostage-taker while Minseo trembles between them.
Chapter-level continuity notes¶
The raid is connected to a murder older than the agency’s current conflict¶
G.Y.’s name comes from the initials of the red-haired woman’s murdered fiancé. The organization has built its identity around a victim while serving the man who killed him.
Na deliberately enters alone¶
He wants information about why G.Y. is targeting him and does not want the red-haired woman or the rest of the team exposed to the initial trap.
The villa’s numbers are tactical camouflage¶
Most members are inexperienced. Their purpose is to hide the few trained fighters and exhaust Na before the hostage stage.
Na’s special-forces background explains his awareness¶
The chapter frames his reactions as learned operational skill rather than supernatural instinct.
Minseo is the real final defense¶
The organization knows physical fighters may fail. It therefore places a child between Na and the person he needs to capture.
