Strips 001–003 — The hostage-taker questions Na’s gun¶
The chapter resumes with Minseo trapped against the blue-haired man’s chest.
The captor stares at Na’s handgun.
WH-WHAT THE HELL? A GUN?
He asks whether it is fake.
Na demonstrates enough confidence with the weapon to make him believe it may be real.
The blue-haired man tries to press the knife more tightly against Minseo.
Na watches the angle.
THE DIRECTION OF YOUR KNIFE TELLS ME ENOUGH.
He explains that the captor cannot kill the child instantly from the position he chose. The body mechanics, grip, and distance are wrong.
The man shouts that a government officer cannot simply fire with a child there.
Na fires or triggers the weapon in a way that startles him. The captor flinches and briefly loosens control.
The gun itself drops away.
Na uses the opening rather than relying on the shot.
He closes the distance and tears Minseo free.
The captor is struck across the room.
Strips 004–006 — Na does not need a gun to stop him¶
The blue-haired man rises, believing Na’s weapon used a blank round.
Na says:
I DON’T NEED A GUN TO STOP A HOSTAGE COSPLAYER FROM SOMEONE LIKE YOU.
The man attacks with a knife and fast combinations.
Na blocks the blade, traps the arm, and counters with a short strike.
The captor tries to exploit momentary distraction.
Na answers:
A MOMENT OF DISTRACTION… THAT’S ALL I NEED.
The blue-haired man says he is no match for an old man in a verbal fight, but claims clean strikes will decide the real contest.
The two exchange punches at close range.
The attacker uses formal combinations, feints, and low kicks.
Na notices that he fights as though he learned through real violence rather than ordinary school brawls.
The man then produces a chain weapon.
Strips 007–009 — Every prepared scenario fails¶
The blue-haired fighter says the organization considered every way Na might enter:
- sudden attacks,
- hostages,
- fake reports,
- superior numbers,
- and concealed weapons.
They expected at least one method to work.
Na continues advancing.
The fighter’s chain wraps around furniture and is redirected against him.
Na takes several clean hits but remains functional.
The attacker boasts that Na’s punches do not possess enough power to finish him quickly.
Na recognizes that the glasses protect part of the man’s face and that the fighter has conditioned himself to absorb impacts.
He stops aiming where the protection is strongest.
The blue-haired man draws a knife again and calls it the “real deal.”
Na catches the wrist, forces the blade away, and attacks the joints and balance rather than trading straight punches.
The man’s arm collapses.
Na drives him into the floor and says the agency can investigate his background later.
Strip 010 — Minseo believes Na saved him¶
The fight is over.
Na kneels beside Minseo and wipes blood from his face.
MINSEO, YOU DID GREAT.
LET’S GET YOU BACK TO YOUR DAD NOW.
The child holds Na’s sleeve and looks frightened rather than relieved.
He calls him:
AHJUSSI…
Na asks whether he has something to say.
Strip 011 — The child refuses to leave¶
Minseo says:
IF I GO OUT NOW, I’M DEAD!
He insists that he must remain hidden until “everything is over.”
The boy is afraid not only of the blue-haired captor. He believes leaving the room will expose him to another person or faction inside the organization.
Na looks toward the dark hallway.
The rescue has revealed a deeper problem: Minseo knows why G.Y. is targeting Na and may be connected to the organization’s internal struggle.
The chapter ends with Na standing between the injured captor and the child who refuses to go home.
