Strips 001–002 — Three former bullies remember the past¶
The chapter opens on three adult women communicating by phone and social media.
One of them jokes about how satisfying it felt to beat a particular girl during middle and high school, then struggles to remember the victim’s name.
Another suddenly receives a link and calls the others:
CALL AND CHECK THE LINK I JUST SENT!
I THINK WE’RE FUCKED!
The link is a new public video.
A young woman appears on-screen and announces:
STARTING NOW, I WILL REVEAL EVERYTHING THOSE THREE DEVILS DID…
AND HOW THEY’RE LIVING RIGHT NOW.
The speaker is Jang Haeran.
One of the former bullies recognizes her with alarm:
JANG… HAERAN…?
Haeran begins with the first day of middle school, when she met Ok Seoyoung and the group of girls who surrounded her.
Strips 003–004 — Ok Seoyoung selects a victim¶
Young Haeran enters middle school anxious about whether she will fit in.
Seoyoung immediately studies her face and posture.
She mocks Haeran for looking frightened and boasts that she can identify weak students at a glance.
DO YOU KNOW MY NICKNAME?
IT’S “LOSER SCANNER.”
Seoyoung pretends to offer friendship:
I HOPE WE GET ALONG WELL~
The friendliness becomes physical domination almost immediately.
Seoyoung forces Haeran to act for the group’s amusement, humiliates her in front of classmates, and establishes her as the person anyone may mistreat without consequence.
Haeran narrates that Seoyoung did not bully her because of a real conflict.
She wanted a visibly powerless student beneath her so she could demonstrate her own position as the school’s dominant bully.
The abuse continues through all six years of middle and high school.
Strip 005 — No adult or classmate intervenes¶
Haeran says nobody at school truly helped.
Students feared Seoyoung and the girls around her. Teachers either failed to recognize the scale of the abuse or allowed themselves to believe each incident was minor.
A classmate quietly asks whether Haeran is all right, but no one openly challenges Seoyoung.
Haeran’s life becomes organized around avoiding attention, minimizing reactions, and surviving until the next school day ends.
Then she remembers one exception.
NO, THERE WAS ONE PERSON.
Her only genuine friend was Yunju.
Strips 006–007 — Yunju refuses to abandon Haeran¶
Yunju and Haeran lived in the same apartment complex and had been close since elementary school, though they entered different middle-school classes.
Out of hundreds of students, Yunju was the only person who continued meeting Haeran, listening to her, and comforting her.
Haeran warns her:
YOU KNOW THAT I’M GETTING BULLIED, RIGHT?
YOU’LL ALSO GET BULLIED IF OK SEOYOUNG AND HER GANG SEE YOU WITH ME.
She tells Yunju to pretend they no longer know one another.
Yunju apologizes because she was too afraid to defend Haeran openly at school.
Still, she refuses to disappear entirely.
BUT LET’S AT LEAST HANG OUT AND HAVE FUN OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL.
Seoyoung’s group eventually sees them together.
The girls accuse them of acting like a couple and order both students outside.
From that day forward, Yunju is pulled into the same abuse.
Strip 008 — Yunju transfers, but Seoyoung follows her indirectly¶
For more than a year, Seoyoung’s group bullies Yunju at nearly the same level as Haeran.
By the end of Yunju’s second middle-school year, her family transfers her to another school.
Haeran is lonely after the transfer but also relieved.
Yunju was bright, intelligent, and capable of making friends. Haeran believes she has finally escaped.
Then the former bullies learn that Yunju has died.
Some of the girls laugh and assume Yunju must have been bullied again because “a loser smells like a loser wherever they go.”
Seoyoung interrupts them and proudly claims responsibility.
She says she happened to see Yunju smiling happily after the transfer.
Seoyoung could not tolerate the sight.
She contacted an elementary-school acquaintance who attended Yunju’s new school and taught that student the same methods of exclusion and harassment.
Within roughly a month, Yunju’s new life had collapsed.
Seoyoung had intended to keep controlling her from a distance.
Strip 009 — Haeran experiences murderous rage and remains silent¶
One girl nervously asks whether they should really laugh when someone has died and whether the police might become involved.
Another dismisses the fear because they attend different schools and believe no one can prove anything.
Haeran says this was the first time in her life she understood the feeling of murderous intent.
Seoyoung sees her expression and mocks her grief.
AWW, POOR HAERAN. YOU MUST BE SO SAD!
The fear of the person standing in front of Haeran is stronger than the rage.
She cannot move.
She cannot report what she heard.
The bullies continue living openly and eventually graduate.
Haeran tries to forget.
Strip 010 — Eight years of cowardice and one source of courage¶
Haeran calls herself a coward who turned away from her friend’s death.
For eight years, she hides from the memory while Yunju’s mother continues fighting schools, courts, lawyers, and public institutions.
When Yunju’s mother appears close to total defeat because of attorney misconduct, Haeran assumes the world will once again prove that the weak always lose.
Instead, the mother continues until she secures a small but meaningful victory.
Haeran says that example gave her courage.

Strip 011 — The three identities are exposed¶
Haeran reveals the present-day identities and workplaces of the three women.
Lee Dabin¶
Twenty-four years old, employed as a hairdresser at a shop in Mapo-gu.
Kim Yuni¶
Twenty-four years old, employed as a Grade 9 civil servant at a community center in Yongsan.
Ok Seoyoung¶
The principal instigator, operating a Pilates or personal-training studio in Gangnam.
Haeran says she will continue until the lives of the three “devils” reach rock bottom.
She asks former classmates, witnesses, and other victims to join her.
Finally, she speaks directly to the Teachers’ Rights Protection Agency.
