The chapter contains attempted bribery, a contractual gag agreement, conspiracy to spread false information, coercion of former accomplices, and a public betrayal.
Strips 001–002 — Seoyoung offers money instead of truth¶
Haeran confronts Seoyoung in the apartment hallway.
YOU HIRED SOMEONE TO ASSAULT ME,
AND NOW THAT THINGS ARE BAD, YOU’RE SUDDENLY KNEELING AND APOLOGIZING?
She tells Seoyoung the apology does not feel real.
Daniel suggests hearing the offer inside rather than continuing in the hallway.
Once seated, Haeran asks how Seoyoung intends to demonstrate remorse.
Kneeling cannot be the entire answer.
She suspects money.
Seoyoung says:
300 MILLION WON!
She frames the amount as a reward for Haeran fighting well and refuses to call it “just some money.”
Haeran rejects the idea that any amount can settle six years of abuse and Yunju’s death.
Daniel interrupts.
If Seoyoung can pay immediately, he says, the proposal may be worth considering.
Strips 003–004 — The first condition is rejected¶
Seoyoung assumes Daniel understands how the world works.
She proposes a condition.
Haeran must immediately livestream and say that everything previously alleged about Seoyoung was false.
Daniel refuses.
A knowingly false retraction could expose Haeran to criminal and civil liability for spreading false information.
Seoyoung clicks her tongue and abandons that version.
She proposes a narrower agreement:
- Haeran will stop making livestreams,
- stop producing further exposure videos,
- and refrain from participating in additional public revelations concerning Seoyoung.
In exchange, Seoyoung will pay ₩300 million.
The written agreement also contains a large penalty if Haeran violates it.
Daniel asks whether the money can be transferred immediately.
Seoyoung demands bank details.
Haeran says she never agreed.
Daniel quietly tells her to follow his lead for the moment.
Strips 005–006 — Daniel distinguishes a gag agreement from forgiveness¶
The money is transferred and the agreement signed.
Seoyoung celebrates.
SEE? I WAS ALWAYS RIGHT~
IF MONEY CAN’T SOLVE ALL YOUR PROBLEMS, YOU’RE JUST NOT USING ENOUGH OF IT~
She leaves, saying the matter is over and they should never meet again.
Haeran asks Daniel why he accepted.
I DIDN’T START THIS FOR MONEY.
She wanted the world to know what the women did.
Daniel says the agency was already planning to stop the repeated livestreams because continued exposure would create secondary harm, legal danger, and uncontrolled public retaliation.
They have not settled the underlying bullying.
The document is only an agreement to stop future public revelations.
Daniel’s real goal remains teaching Seoyoung that some problems cannot be solved with money.
Haeran is still uneasy because her personal victim story was the only available path to punish Seoyoung after Yunju’s case ended.
Daniel tells her to trust the next step.
Strips 007–008 — Seoyoung gathers Dabin and Yuni¶
Seoyoung goes to an expensive club.
She summons Dabin and Yuni.
Both women are visibly miserable.
Dabin cannot find work.
Yuni believes she will soon be dismissed from public service if the full truth is established.
Seoyoung mocks their long faces and says they should be furious that childhood “playtime” destroyed their adult careers.
She reveals a new online channel created under an employee’s or associate’s name.
The channel description says:
AS SOMEONE WHO WENT TO SCHOOL WITH JANG HAERAN, I WILL REVEAL THE TRUTH BEHIND WHAT’S CURRENTLY HAPPENING.
Seoyoung’s plan is to publish daily claims that Haeran has been a compulsive liar since middle school.
Dabin and Yuni will appear first.
If the response is favorable, additional classmates will be recruited until Haeran becomes a person nobody trusts.
Strips 009–010 — The gag agreement becomes Seoyoung’s weapon¶
Dabin and Yuni worry that Haeran will recognize their voices and respond publicly.
Seoyoung says the contract prevents Haeran from making further videos.
She offers each woman at least ₩100 million if the smear campaign succeeds.
Yuni wants to stop.
She says the issue is no longer about money and that Haeran’s livestreams have already ended.
Dabin also wants to avoid making the scandal larger.
Seoyoung says she originally planned to let the matter fade after kneeling and paying.
Then Haeran looked down at her and smirked.
Seoyoung cannot forgive the expression.
She wants to see Haeran terrified again.
She tells Dabin that anyone who backs out will be buried alongside Haeran.
Dabin begins thinking about instructions she received from “that person.”
Strip 011 — A masked classmate begins the smear broadcast¶
A disguised speaker appears on the new channel wearing a cap, sunglasses, and a face covering.
She says she attended the same middle and high schools as Jang Haeran.
The prepared script describes Haeran as a compulsive liar since childhood.
It claims she invented stories about being the granddaughter of a conglomerate chairman or the daughter of a special-forces commander.
According to the script, classmates disliked her because of the lies, but the treatment never resembled the severe bullying she now claims.
The speaker says Haeran’s old “illness” has flared up and she is manufacturing the current scandal.
Seoyoung watches with satisfaction.
Then the masked woman changes direction.
THESE WERE THE LINES I WAS TOLD TO SAY TODAY.
Strip 012 — Dabin betrays Seoyoung’s plan¶
The speaker says she will now reveal the truth Seoyoung does not want Haeran to know.
Seoyoung did not merely bully Yunju and Haeran during school.
She also ordered the recent assault on Haeran.
Although police released Seoyoung because the evidence was insufficient, the order was real.
The masked witness describes the coordination and the attempt to leave no visible injuries.
Seoyoung stares at the broadcast in disbelief.
THIS CRAZY BITCH, WHAT THE HELL IS SHE DOING?!
Daniel and Haeran watch the same stream together from behind a phone mounted on a tripod.
The new statement breaks Seoyoung’s planned smear campaign from inside.
The chapter ends with Haeran no longer forced to answer personally—the testimony is coming from one of Seoyoung’s own former allies.

Daniel accepts payment for a limited silence agreement because the agency already intended to end repeated public exposure.
Seoyoung interprets every agreement as domination¶

Her final motive is wounded hierarchy¶
The smear campaign is not needed for financial safety once Haeran stops streaming. Seoyoung continues because Haeran looked down at her.
Dabin’s reversal is the trap¶
Seoyoung recruits a witness to call Haeran a liar, but the same witness publicly confirms the recent conspiracy.
The agency avoids violating the agreement directly¶
Haeran does not restart her own exposure campaign. New testimony emerges independently from inside Seoyoung’s group.
