Strip 001 — A rescued victim runs back toward Hansol¶
A young victim walks alone carrying a shopping bag.
He remembers that the official TRPA never answered his report, while Hansol punished the offender who terrorized him.
HE’S THE ONLY ONE WHO RESCUED US.
He worries that Hansol will now be punished because of something the victims say.
When he sees Hanrim moving to take Hansol away, he runs back toward the abandoned building.
The crowd’s plea from the previous chapter grows into organized resistance.
Strip 002 — Hanrim announces the arrest procedure¶
The young people show Hanrim messages and case histories.
They repeat:
HE SAVED US.
WE NEED HIM.
Hansol watches from the floor.
Hanrim says she understands why they are protecting him, but she is carrying out official duties.
She orders everyone to stop interfering and leave.
Police and paramedics will arrive shortly.
Anyone who remains and physically blocks the arrest may be charged with obstruction of justice.
The crowd does not move.
One child says the police are coming as if the arrival of ordinary authorities is another threat rather than relief.
Strip 003 — The victims choose Hansol over the agency¶
The crowd rushes forward.
Hanrim restrains several people without using the full force she used against Hansol.
She warns that attacking an inspector can make them accomplices to obstruction.
The victims answer that the official TRPA has no moral right to arrest the only person who helped.
WHILE WE WERE LIVING IN HELL EVERY SINGLE DAY, WHAT DID YOU DO?
WE REPORTED IT EVERY DAY FOR THREE MONTHS!
BUT YOU NEVER RESPONDED, NOT EVEN ONCE!
They say teachers, schools, police, and the agency all turned away.
ONLY HE SAVED US!
One student asks whether the agency understands why vigilante justice occurs.
IT’S BECAUSE PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS LIKE YOURS DON’T DO THEIR JOBS PROPERLY!
Hanrim freezes.
The accusation strikes deeper than the physical resistance.
Strip 004 — Sera’s medical condition and the failed search¶
At the hospital, doctors explain that Sera was knocked unconscious with a stun gun and suffered cranial injury.
She remains under observation because of possible neurological damage.
The team requests police help tracing Hansol through nearby CCTV.
The abandoned district is scheduled for redevelopment and has very few active cameras.
They also request identification through the encrypted group-chat account.
The application is operated by a foreign company known for strict security. It may cooperate with a police request, but the overseas process could take months.
Hansol has escaped immediate tracking.
Strip 005 — The TRPA is blamed for creating him¶
Hanrim tells the others not to blame themselves.
Sera, still injured, does blame herself.
The victims’ words made her hesitate.
VIGILANTE JUSTICE HAPPENED BECAUSE WE DIDN’T DO OUR JOBS.
She wonders whether the official inspectors have the right to punish the “Second Company” after failing to reach the same victims.
A critical online commentator uploads a message directed toward the agency:
YOUR EXTRALEGAL ACTIONS HAVE ULTIMATELY CREATED THIS MONSTER.
I’LL BE WATCHING TO SEE HOW YOU HANDLE THIS SITUATION.
The official agency’s own history of spectacular physical punishment now shapes public sympathy for its imitator.
Strip 006 — Hansol declares the official agency obsolete¶
Hansol releases a public video.
He holds up the handcuffs Hanrim placed on him.
He says that after everything he did, the official TRPA responded with:
- “Vigilante justice is wrong,”
- “It’s illegal,”
- and “It’s your fault.”
He grips a bloodied offender while speaking.
I CLEANED UP THE TRASH THAT YOU COULDN’T HANDLE.
He claims the official agency needs two or three weeks to resolve one case while he can handle three or four cases a day.
THE WORLD NEEDS ME MORE THAN IT NEEDS THEM!
FROM NOW ON, SEND ALL REPORTS TO ME.
I’LL HANDLE THEM FASTER… AND MORE DECISIVELY THAN THOSE GUYS EVER COULD.
The comments overwhelmingly support him.
Users say the TRPA should have recruited him rather than arrested him, and some threaten anyone who tries to stop the Second Company.
The official team learns that Hansol has already attacked again.
Hanrim orders immediate tracking but says the injured victims come first.
Strip 007 — Public punishment follows Hansol’s verdict¶
One of Hansol’s targets lies hospitalized.
The person’s photograph and alleged identity as a “school bully” spread online.
Messages arrive constantly:
- “Go die.”
- “I have your photo.”
- “You’re not even human.”
- “Getting wrecked by the Second Company isn’t enough.”
- “Congratulations on your trip to the hospital.”
The target insists repeatedly:
NO…
HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO SAY IT’S NOT TRUE…
JUST HOW CAN I MAKE YOU BELIEVE ME…
The posts do not ask whether Hansol investigated correctly.
His punishment itself is being treated as proof of guilt.
Strip 008 — The accused girl reaches the roof¶
Still wearing a hospital gown and eye bandage, the young woman climbs to the rooftop.
She stands on the narrow edge above the hospital grounds.
Tears run down her face.
I GUESS…
THIS IS THE ONLY WAY AFTER ALL, HUH?
The chapter ends with the girl preparing to jump because neither Hansol nor the public will accept her claim that she was falsely accused.
