Images 001–017 — Sangyeol Cheon degrades Hyun-woong¶
A bespectacled student cleans a classroom surface.
Teacher Sangyeol Cheon checks the work with his finger.
He finds a small amount of dust.
Cheon grabs the student’s face and pushes the dirty finger into his mouth.
DIDN’T CLEAN PROPERLY? IT’S ONLY FAIR YOU SWALLOW IT, NO?
The student coughs and gags.
Cheon says the dust exists because the boy performs everything halfway.
He tells him that people began calling him trash because he behaves like trash.
The student is identified as Choi Hyun-woong.
Images 018–037 — Gifts and a ₩1 million check¶
A female student visits Cheon in the staff room with a decorative gift box.
She thanks him for a private conversation or favorable guidance.
Cheon says his door is always open, even to students outside his class.
Inside the gift is an envelope or cashier’s check worth approximately:

Another teacher quietly warns him not to accept gifts.
Cheon dismisses the concern.
He says teaching is partly a game of relationships.
The contrast with Hyun-woong is immediate: students from influential families receive warmth, private help, and indulgence.
Images 038–054 — Na arrives to verify a report¶
Na Hwa-jin reaches the school.
Administrators insist there are no problematic students.
The principal or senior staff member suggests moving the conversation somewhere private and attempts to smooth the visit with gifts or hospitality.
Na introduces himself formally as a Teachers’ Rights Protection Agency inspector.
He says he came only to verify a report.
If there is genuinely no problem, he will leave quickly.
The administrators become nervous because they do not know what Na already knows.
Images 055–075 — Gwan-shik bullies the top student¶
Inside the classroom, Hyun-woong studies while other students socialize.
A brown-haired student, Gwan-shik, interrupts him.
He rubs a dirty shoe or object across Hyun-woong’s notes and orders him to clean.
Gwan-shik mocks the upcoming midterms and says studying is pointless for someone who cannot afford university.
He insults Hyun-woong’s grandfather, who collects trash or recyclable material for a living.
The bullying attacks both poverty and academic ambition.
Hyun-woong attempts to continue studying.
Gwan-shik strikes him and escalates.
Images 076–090 — Cheon praises punishment in theory¶
Na asks Sangyeol Cheon whether the school has recurring behavioral problems.
Cheon says every school contains one or two bad apples.
He claims to support the TRPA’s methods.
Some students, he says, need a few hits to come to their senses.
Na notices the contempt beneath the educational language.
Cheon refers to troublesome children as garbage that makes adults sick to look at.
He then heads toward class as though his own conduct has nothing in common with the abuse the agency punishes.
Images 091–108 — Cheon blames the assaulted student¶
Cheon enters while Gwan-shik is attacking Hyun-woong.
He orders the violence to stop.
Then he tells Hyun-woong to kneel and apologize to Gwan-shik.
Cheon says Hyun-woong created the conflict by refusing an order and escalating the situation.
The student protests that Gwan-shik insulted his grandfather and attacked first.
Cheon dismisses the explanation.
He calls Hyun-woong the offspring of a vagrant or trash collector and tells him that a person of his background should not provoke wealthier classmates.
The teacher openly reinforces the same caste hierarchy as the bully.
Images 109–120 — Hyun-woong grabs the teacher¶
Hyun-woong reaches his limit.
He grabs Cheon by the collar.
WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO ME?
YOU’RE NICE TO EVERYONE ELSE, WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO ME?!
Cheon looks almost pleased.
A student shouting at and grabbing a teacher creates the perfect image of collapsing teachers’ rights.
Na enters and calls it an excellent window into the problem.
Classmates believe Hyun-woong has been trapped.
The TRPA is known for catching violent “bad apples,” and the student has just acted violently in front of an inspector.
Images 121–134 — Na uses Hyun-woong’s fist to answer the teacher¶
Na asks Cheon whether he may take the student.
Cheon agrees immediately.
He says Hyun-woong’s luck is trash like everything else about him.
Na tells Hyun-woong to clench his fist tightly.
He guides or swings the student’s fist into Cheon’s face with overwhelming force.
The teacher crashes backward.
Na says there is one statement on which he agrees with Cheon:
SOME SCUMBAGS HAVE TO GET HIT TO COME TO THEIR SENSES.
He looks down at the stunned teacher.
DON’T YOU THINK, YOU GARBAGE TEACHER WHO CALLS HIS STUDENTS TRASH?
The chapter ends with Sangyeol Cheon finally occupying the powerless position he created for Hyun-woong.
