Strip 001 — Wonsul’s money-filled operation¶
Sera tells the injured collector that she will not hand money to a small fry.

At his luxurious hideout, Jung Wonsul receives the call while surrounded by cash.
He thanks lower-level members for bringing him large amounts of money and tells them they may take several stacks after he leaves.
Wonsul jokes that the operation grew through methods associated with Kang Changsung, the former Seoul loan shark whose tactics G.Y. copied.
The branch chief has converted teenagers’ debts into personal luxury.
After leaving the room, he announces that he is going to spend some of the money.
Elsewhere in Busan, Na Hwa-jin sits beside the water fishing.
He catches a small fish, examines it, and lets it go.
The action visually establishes his strategy: the small collectors are not the true target.
Strip 002 — Sera’s interrogation produces no names¶
Sera joins Na by the water.
He asks whether she is aiming for a small catch.
Na says the fish is only a baby and must be released. He is aiming for something much larger.
Sera reports the interrogation results.
The collector knows almost nothing about the organization above him.
He was recruited through an anonymous message promising payment for collecting overdue debts.
Instructions arrived through burner phones.
He has never seen the face of the branch leader or even the higher-level recruiter.
Na says this ignorance is not an accident.
G.Y.’s Busan operation is cell-based.
Lower members are deliberately prevented from knowing enough to expose the structure.
Still, Sera’s evidence confirms that the collectors use the same methods Kang Changsung described.
They have found the branch even if they have not found Wonsul.
Strip 003 — The cell-based recruitment system¶
An informant explains how the branch expands.
The core members rarely touch victims directly.
They recruit people already trapped by gambling or private-loan debts.
A desperate debtor is offered a deal:
collect money from someone else, and part of your own debt will be cleared.
Collectors are ordered to break victims mentally and physically until they pay.
Successful collectors recruit additional collectors through the same debt traps.
The structure contains:
- real core members at the top;
- collection crews recruited through debt;
- burner phones;
- fake accounts;
- and members who know only the person directly above or below them.
If one collector is arrested, the phone is discarded and the rest of the branch remains hidden.
The informant says he was recruited in exactly that manner and has never seen the gang’s leader.
Na asks whether the same compartmentalization that protects the organization can be turned against it.
The answer is yes.
Strip 004 — Scenario A¶
Na and Sera sit together planning the operation.

Na apologizes because the disguise requires Sera to remain in her “debtor” costume a little longer.
She is delighted.
The bizarre assignment fulfills one of her bucket-list fantasies about undercover work.
The next stage begins with the rental of an extremely expensive yellow sports car.
The rental employee warns that the vehicle is exceptionally rare in Busan and says a one-week booking normally requires careful insurance arrangements.
The customer insists on paying the entire amount at once.
One week later, the conspicuous car moves through crowded public areas.
The display is intended to draw attention from collectors and branch members monitoring sudden wealth.
Strip 005 — Wonsul watches the branch’s victims as entertainment¶
Inside the hideout, Wonsul and senior members toast.
The operation has produced approximately ₩3 billion in combined cash or assets.
They celebrate the branch’s transformation from exhausting street collection into a scalable business.
Wonsul credits the system copied from Kang Changsung and the organizational opportunity created by G.Y.
The senior members watch livestreams installed on collectors’ burner phones.
The feeds show debtors crying, begging, being struck, and threatened.
A victim asks the collectors not to tell her parents.
Another is told to surrender money or intimate material.
Wonsul calls the footage a perfect snack for drinking.
The men toast:

Their distance from the violence allows them to treat it as entertainment.
Strip 006 — The live feeds begin showing Sera¶
One monitor changes.
The screen shows Sera knocking collectors down.
Wonsul orders the video paused.
At first, he cannot understand why the same apparently vulnerable girl appears repeatedly around different disrupted collections.
Other branch members report that more than twenty collectors have been defeated.
A lower leader says a woman has interfered with operations for nearly a week.
They tried sending additional men, threatening relatives, and following the usual intimidation procedures.
Nothing worked.
Another crew has now been sent to deal with her.
Wonsul begins suspecting that the problem is not an unusually aggressive debtor but a deliberate attack on the branch.
Strip 007 — The agency uses the branch’s threats against it¶
Na and Sera stage calls through the collectors’ own communication network.
A collector threatens a supposed family and says the debtor’s daughter will be harmed unless approximately ₩9 million is paid.
The people on the receiving end refuse to react as expected.
They keep the caller talking and force him to reveal how the threats are relayed.
The collector asks what anyone can do if the branch simply ignores them.
The lower crews admit to Wonsul that every attempt has failed.
They sent more than ten men that day, yet Sera defeated them all.
A mocking online-style image of the disguised Sera circulates through the phones.
The branch’s ordinary coercion has become useless because the “debtor” has no fear of exposure, violence, or escalating fees.
Strip 008 — Sera challenges Wonsul directly¶
The lower collectors complain that their boss will not help even though the mysterious woman owes around ₩100 million under the branch’s fabricated calculations.
Sera stands before another group with her fists raised.
All of them are defeated.
Wonsul finally receives a clear image of her face and recognizes the possibility that she belongs to the TRPA.
A message or voice from Sera reaches him:
HERE’S THE TRPA TO LISTEN CLOSELY!
IF YOU WANT MONEY…
OR JUST KEEP LOSING YOUR LACKEYS TO ME.
The chapter ends with the cell-based structure forcing Wonsul to expose himself. If the branch chief remains hidden, his collectors and revenue continue disappearing.
