Content note¶
The chapter contains interrogation through violence, predatory-loan proceeds, tied captives, organized-crime betrayal, and an explosive fire trap.
Strip 001 — Na demands the branch ledger¶
Na interrogates Wonsul inside the captured safe house.
He asks for:
- the customer list,
- the loan ledger,
- and all remaining assets.
Wonsul proposes a deal instead.
If Na releases him, Wonsul will provide the location of every G.Y. headquarters and the personal information of senior executives.
He says Na is targeting the entire organization, not merely one branch.
Na answers that he does not care about loyalty among criminals.
He would personally like to kill the organization’s current second-ranked figure.
A few hours earlier, he might have accepted Wonsul’s offer.
Then Sera reminded him of the agency’s most important duty.
Na punches him.
NOW, I’LL ASK AGAIN.
WHERE IS THE CUSTOMER LEDGER AND THE REMAINING ASSETS?
Strip 002 — The missing ₩1.6 billion¶
Sera examines the ledger.
It lists approximately 186 victims.
The visible accounting says the branch collected roughly ₩2.6 billion.
She inventories the recovered property.
Wonsul’s safe-house deposit is approximately ₩500 million.
Luxury goods are estimated around ₩300 million.
Cash is approximately ₩200 million.
The total recovered value is only a little over ₩1 billion.
His sports car may add another ₩400 million.
A gap remains.
Na asks how Wonsul intended to deal with the missing ₩1.6 billion.
Wonsul acts brazenly because the inspectors already found so much.
Sera attacks him again.
She shouts that the money belongs to desperate victims, not to him.
Na repeats the question after the beating.
Strip 003 — Wonsul offers to guide them personally¶
Wonsul finally understands what the team wants.
He asks whether they expect him to travel to headquarters and retrieve the missing money.
Na says they are attempting both objectives at once:
- recover victim assets,
- and follow the connection into G.Y.
Wonsul agrees to guide them.
He says they will not release him anyway, and the team would not trust a verbal location.
Na remains suspicious of the sudden cooperation.
The next day, the inspectors arrive at a luxury high-rise in Seoul.
Wonsul identifies the penthouse as the residence of:
JI YUN-GYEOL
He describes Yun-gyeol as G.Y.’s number-two figure beneath the imprisoned Jo Gyuchul.
Na reacts because he has encountered the name before.
Strip 004 — The penthouse password¶
Wonsul provides the penthouse password:
6813820
He asks for ten minutes to enter first.
The agency restrains and monitors him while allowing the approach.
Internally, Wonsul says he is already ruined but refuses to be the only person dragged into hell.
He blames Ji Yun-gyeol for what happened to the Busan branch.
At the penthouse floor, Wonsul discovers that the entrance does not match the security system he remembers.
There is no visible keypad.
He wonders whether the door has been changed.
Strip 005 — The apartment appears abandoned¶
Wonsul enters and shouts for Yun-gyeol.
He says the agency raided Busan and demands that members from other branches gather for an emergency meeting.
No one answers.
After ten minutes, the inspectors follow.
Daniel has brought forced-entry equipment in case the door must be dismantled.
The door is now an ordinary knob without a keypad.
It opens when pushed.
The team storms inside.
BREACH!
EVERYBODY FREEZE! IT’S THE AGENCY!
The penthouse is dark and unnaturally quiet.
Strip 006 — The branch chiefs are hanging inside¶
The team finds several senior G.Y. members tied and suspended inside the apartment.
Visible labels identify:
- Gwangju branch chief Jang Du-hyeok;
- Seoul Mapo branch chief Mo Yun-won;
- and Seoul Gangnam branch chief Ban Eun-su.
They are bruised, unconscious, or barely responsive.
Wonsul realizes Ji Yun-gyeol arranged to eliminate them all.
He curses Yun-gyeol and says the second-ranked leader intends to dispose of every rival branch in one operation.
A screen or hidden camera watches the room.
Strip 007 — Ji Yun-gyeol detonates the trap¶
Elsewhere, the surviving G.Y. leadership observes the penthouse remotely.
The group includes:
- G.Y. No. 2 Ji Yun-gyeol;
- Head of Intelligence Park Ma-ri;
- and Chief of General Headquarters Kim Tae-yang.
Yun-gyeol says every piece of “trash” requiring removal has gathered in one place.
He tells Ma-ri to proceed.
Ma-ri produces a large novelty-style button marked “BOOM.”
GOODBYE, EVERYONE~
She presses it.
The penthouse erupts in flame and explosive force.
Wonsul screams about his money as the room catches fire around the inspectors and the captured branch chiefs.
The chapter ends with the TRPA trapped inside Yun-gyeol’s purge.
Chapter-level continuity notes¶
Asset recovery replaces revenge as the immediate priority¶
Na refuses Wonsul’s offer to sacrifice other G.Y. members because the victims’ money must be found first.
The ledger quantifies the branch’s harm¶
The sports car, safe house, luxury goods, and cash represent only part of what was taken from 186 people.
Wonsul cooperates for selfish reasons¶
He wants Ji Yun-gyeol dragged down with him and believes the headquarters can become a weapon against both rivals and inspectors.
Yun-gyeol has already abandoned the cell structure¶
He gathers branch chiefs not to protect them, but to eliminate competing leadership.
The explosion targets both sides¶
The trap attempts to kill the TRPA and purge inconvenient G.Y. executives simultaneously.
