Conventions¶
The scanlation’s wording, profanity, and unusual grammar are retained where readable. Korean impact lettering is described by action when a literal rendering is uncertain. Tiny promotional copy is summarized.
Strip 001 — Cover and credits¶
The Imperfect Comics cover uses the same red-and-black Chapter design, with Na Hwa-jin smiling against a dark background. The title reads TRUE EDUCATION — CHAPTER 35. Production credits and community links appear along the left and bottom.
Strip 002 — Site notice and warning¶
An orange “read at our site” notice is followed by a black warning about strong language, mature themes, and fictional characters/events.
A long fade to black transitions back into the interview room from Chapter 34.
Strip 003 — Cho Kyu-cheol begins his story¶
Na sits opposite Cho Kyu-cheol. Cho answers Na’s unspoken demand to explain what happened to Choi Ga-yoon.
“WAS IT IN MAY…?”
“IT WAS A VERY FUCKING HOT DAY IN MAY.”
The recollection appears in washed-out panels. Cho, then a large long-haired student in a white T-shirt, sweats in a school corridor.
“THE STUPID SCHOOL WOULDN’T TURN ON THE AC BEFORE JUNE.”
“I WAS ANNOYED, SO I WAS GONNA SKIP SCHOOL.”
A female homeroom teacher steps into the hall and blocks his way.
“THEN THAT BITCH STOPPED ME.”
Cho treats the teacher’s attempt to stop truancy as the first “cause” of the killing.
Strip 004 — The teacher confronts him¶
The teacher stands firmly in the corridor, legs apart, speaking to Cho. Her exact smaller dialogue is partly obscured, but she is clearly ordering him back to class.
Cho says:
“I DON’T QUITE REMEMBER, BUT…”
“IT WAS SO FUCKING NOISY…”
“LIKE I SAID EARLIER…”
The panels blur and stretch as his memory focuses not on the teacher’s words but on his own irritation.
Strip 005 — The punch¶
A fist fills the frame and slams into a face with a huge vertical Korean impact SFX. Cho’s narration continues over the violent image.
He recalls the hit as a singularly satisfying moment rather than a loss of control.
Strip 006 — A grotesque joke about “the best punch”¶
Cho leans across the table with a manic grin.
“TYSON ONCE SAID,”
“THE BEST PUNCH OF MY LIFE WAS THE PUNCH TO MY WIFE…”
The quotation is presented as Cho’s crude, likely distorted anecdote.
He promises Na:
“I GUARANTEE YOU…”
“THAT PUNCH, WAS THE BEST PUNCH OF MY LIFE.”
“THE SOUND OF THE BONES BREAKING… THAT BITCH HOMEROOM TEACHER’S BODY BENDING…”
He closes his eyes with pleasure.
“EVEN NOW, WHEN I CLOSE MY EYES, I CAN SEE THAT DAY’S SCENE LIKE IT’S IN 1080P.”
The comparison turns the killing into replayable entertainment in his mind.
Strip 007 — “Bad luck”¶
Cho notices Na’s growing anger and reframes the killing as chance.
“UNLUCKY, RIGHT? WASN’T IT UNLUCKY?”
“IF ONLY IT WASN’T HOT THAT DAY…”
“IF ONLY THE SCHOOL TURNED ON THE AIR-CONDITIONER…”
“IF THAT BITCH HOMEROOM TEACHER DIDN’T STOP ME”
“IF SHE DIDN’T FALL IN ONE SHOT”
“IF THE PUNCH OF MY LIFE DIDN’T COME THAT DAY!”
Each “if” transfers responsibility away from Cho and onto weather, school policy, the victim, and coincidence.
Strip 008 — Na reaches his limit¶
Na’s fist tightens. Cho suddenly corrects himself with sarcastic politeness:
“I MEAN, FUCK! COUNSELLOR.”
“YOU SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME ABOUT PRISON.”
He insists in a dark speech bubble:
“I DID NOTHING WRONG!”
“IT WAS JUST BAD LUCK!”
Na’s face is rigid. His eyes are wide with fury, but he remains seated and does not strike the prisoner.
Strip 009 — Leaving the institution¶
The scene shifts outside under a bright sky. A sign on the institution reads, in English:
“IF YOU HAVE A DREAM, YOU CAN START AGAIN”
Na stands alone near the entrance, then attempts to light a cigarette. The repeated click SFX shows that he is awkward with it.
His hand punches or strikes a nearby surface in frustration, but he redirects the violence away from Cho.
Strip 010 — Chey Kang-suk meets him outside¶
Chey approaches with a cigar or cigarette and lighter. He observes Na’s clumsy smoking and helps or comments dryly.
“YOU SOMEHOW GOT OUT…”
“I THOUGHT YOU WOULD GET ARRESTED FOR MURDER ON THE SPOT…”
Na answers:
“I DON’T KNOW WHAT I’M GOING TO DO TO A GUY WHO’S ALREADY PAYING THE PRICE…”
The line captures his dilemma: Cho is legally confined, and attacking him would serve Na’s anger rather than protect anyone.
Strip 011 — Helplessness in front of the offender¶
Na walks beside Chey, one hand near his mouth.
“AFTER EXPERIENCING IT, NOW I UNDERSTAND.”
“EVEN IF THE ASSAILANT IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU…”
“EVEN IF THE ASSAILANT IS MOCKING THE VICTIM…”
He looks down at his open palm.
“I COULDN’T DO ANYTHING”
Strip 012 — Anger without release¶
A close-up shows Na’s hand, reddened by how tightly he has clenched it.
“I COULDN’T EVEN LET MY FIST LOOSE…”
“THE KIND OF FEELING THAT I’M GOING TO EXPLODE WITH ANGER…”
The panel fades into a flashback:
“2 YEARS AGO…”
“YOU TOLD ME THAT, DIDN’T YOU?”
Strip 013 — The origin of the agency¶
In the flashback, Chey stands over a devastated Na.
“GET UP, YOU BASTARD! HOW LONG ARE YOU GOING TO BE A LOSER!”
Chey speaks through his own grief:
“THE GUY THAT KILLED GA-YOON…”
“IS UNDER THE JUVENILE LAW, SO I WANT TO MAKE AN ORGANIZATION THAT BELIEVES IN CORPORAL PUNISHMENT AND CATCH THESE KIND OF BASTARDS!”
A translator’s note explains that “corporal punishment” means physical punishment/hitting.
“THERE SHOULDN’T BE PEOPLE LIKE THOSE ANYMORE!”
The memory shows that the Teacher’s Rights Protection Agency was born from the perceived failure of juvenile law and school authority after Ga-yoon’s death.
Strip 014 — Chey’s present assessment¶
Back in the present, Na stands with his hands behind his head. Chey watches him.
“TO BE HONEST, I THOUGHT IT WAS A CRAZY IDEA.”
Chey adds:
“WELL, THAT THOUGHT STILL REMAINS THE SAME…”
He nevertheless concludes:
“I THINK IT WILL BE A LITTLE REWARDING.”
Na looks toward the sky and asks:
“YEAH…”
“WHERE’S THE NEXT SCHOOL?”
The chapter pivots into a new assignment.
Sports-news introduction¶
Strip 015 — Promising women’s basketball sisters¶
A television sports-news segment begins.
“INTRODUCING PROMISING SPORTS PLAYERS!”
The host explains:
“THE PLAYERS I’M GOING TO INTRODUCE TODAY ARE THE YOUNGEST MEMBERS OF THE NATIONAL WOMEN’S BASKETBALL TEAM, KANG SOO-YEON AND KANG JA-YEON.”
“THESE ARE TODAY’S MAIN CHARACTERS, SISTERS FROM SEUNGYEON HIGH SCHOOL.”
Footage shows a practice match against the prestigious Kangyang University women’s team. Ja-yeon takes a shot while national-team member Song Seulgi blocks; it proves to be a fake and a no-look pass to Soo-yeon.
Strip 016 — Soo-yeon’s skill¶
Kang Soo-yeon receives the ball and shoots with a graceful one-handed form.
The report calls her Seungyeon High School’s “basketball queen” and identifies her as the top scorer at the previous national sports event.
The ball drops through the hoop.
Strip 017 — The influencer image¶
A social-media profile labeled Byeolgram shows Soo-yeon posing in stylish athletic clothes.
Captions say she is tall, beautiful, and an influencer with more than 200,000 followers.
Her public image fuses elite athletic achievement with celebrity branding.
Strip 018 — The sisters’ statistics and public teamwork¶
The broadcast explains that Soo-yeon was the top scorer while Ja-yeon recorded the most assists.
The sisters smile for the camera.
“I’VE BEEN PLAYING BASKETBALL WITH MY LITTLE SISTER HERE SINCE WE WERE LITTLE.”
“I THINK WE PLAY BEST WHEN WE’RE TOGETHER THAN OTHER PLAYERS.”
The report praises them as the youngest high-school sisters on the national team and says the public looks forward to seeing them in the next Asian Games.
Strip 019 — After the interview¶
A reporter shakes Soo-yeon’s hand.
“THANK YOU FOR YOUR HARD WORK.”
“I’LL BE LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOU IN THE FUTURE, SO DO YOUR BEST, STUDENT SOO-YEON.”
Soo-yeon answers politely:
“YES, THANK YOU.”
Teammates congratulate her:
“CAPTAIN, YOU LOOK PRETTY TODAY. I THINK YOU’LL COME OUT GOOD.”
She replies:
“EYY~ IT’S ALL THANKS TO MAKEUP~”
The team bows as the media crew leaves.
Strip 020 — The public face disappears¶
The locker room is empty of reporters. The sisters’ smiles vanish.
A teammate tells someone:
“EUN-HA~ THE REPORTER’S GONE.”
The panel cuts from the clean locker room to a hidden room or storage area. A hand closes a door or operates a latch.
A terrified girl, Eun-ha, is bound to a chair with green tape across her mouth and body. A paper sign on her chest reads:
“KANG SOO-YEON AND KANG JA-YEON, SISTERS WHO ARE LEADING SCHOOL VIOLENCE”
One of the sisters leans close.
“WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO NOW? YOU FUCKING BITCH?!”
Strip 021 — “Nice try”¶
The aggressor smiles inches from Eun-ha’s taped mouth.
“NICE TRY, EUN-HA.”
Eun-ha’s eyes fill with tears. The bully continues:
“BUT NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO”
The threat carries into the next strip.
Strip 022 — Help arrives, though Eun-ha does not know it yet¶
The sentence concludes:
“THERE WON’T BE ANYBODY TO HELP YOU.”
The visual then cuts outside Seungyeon High School.
Lim Han-rim stands in front of the school in a fitted black suit and white shirt. Her long red hair moves in the breeze. She rolls or stretches one arm, preparing for work.
The chapter ends by directly contradicting the bully’s certainty: the Teacher’s Rights Protection Agency has already arrived.

Chapter-level observations¶
1. Cho’s confession is structured as blame displacement¶
He does not deny killing Ga-yoon’s teacher; he converts heat, air-conditioning policy, and the victim’s intervention into excuses. His repeated “if only” statements demonstrate a complete refusal of moral agency.
2. Na experiences the victim’s family’s legal helplessness¶
The scene is not about whether Cho deserves anger. It is about Na discovering that anger cannot lawfully be converted into a punch once the offender is already in custody.
3. The new arc begins through propaganda-like sports coverage¶
The sisters are introduced as national treasures before the private abuse is revealed. Their public teamwork, beauty, and follower count give them protection within the school.
4. The cliffhanger establishes Lim Han-rim as the answer¶
Eun-ha is told nobody will help her. The immediate cut to Lim outside the school turns that threat into dramatic irony.
