Strip 001 — Disclaimer

A black disclaimer page states that the story is fictional and that resemblance to real people, organizations, religions, or places is coincidental.

Strip 002 — The winning point

The chapter resumes immediately after the 4–4 one-on-one game. Park Eun-ha has driven through Kang Soo-yeon’s defense and scored the decisive fifth point.

Soo-yeon falls hard beneath her. Her face is twisted in pain and disbelief, while Eun-ha remains above her, breathing heavily.

Eun-ha:

“THIS GAME WASN’T FAIR.”

Soo-yeon looks up, stunned.

Strip 003 — Eun-ha explains the imbalance

Eun-ha stands over Soo-yeon.

“THE CAPTAIN DOESN’T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT MY BASKETBALL.”

Her point is not that Soo-yeon lacked ability. It is that Soo-yeon spent years refusing to recognize who Eun-ha had become.

A visual montage recalls Eun-ha watching Soo-yeon shoot, dribble, practice, and move through drills.

Strip 004 — Every movement memorized

The montage isolates details of Soo-yeon’s game:

“SHOOTING FORM…”

“TECHNIQUE…”

“FAKE TIMING AND TRAINING METHODS…”

Eun-ha’s face appears upside down in an intense close-up.

“I HAVE SEEN AND ENGRAVED ALL OF THE CAPTAIN’S PLAYS!”

She had studied the person she admired, while Soo-yeon deliberately prevented herself from learning anything about Eun-ha.

Strip 005 — Revenge and admiration

Soo-yeon asks:

“WHY DO YOU THINK SO?”

Eun-ha answers with her hand pressed against Soo-yeon’s face or jaw, pinning her attention in place:

“I’M GOING TO GET REVENGE ON YOU SOMEDAY!”

Soo-yeon weakly calls:

“EU… EUN-HA…”

Eun-ha then corrects the emotional assumption behind her challenge.

“NO…”

“I REALLY LIKED YOUR BASKETBALL.”

Strip 006 — The recognition Eun-ha wanted

Eun-ha rises while Soo-yeon remains on the floor.

“EVEN IF YOU DON’T HAVE A NICE PERSONALITY, I LEARNED A LOT ABOUT BASKETBALL.”

“IT’S BECAUSE I’M SERIOUS ABOUT BASKETBALL!”

Her eyes widen with hurt.

“I THOUGHT YOU’D RECOGNISE ME IF I WORKED HARD!”

A tight close-up of her eye accompanies the accusation:

“BUT YOU BETRAYED THAT BASKETBALL.”

Eun-ha does not frame the abuse only as a personal betrayal. Soo-yeon corrupted the sport Eun-ha loved and had used as the basis of her admiration.

Strip 007 — “Trash”

Eun-ha turns away.

“KANG SOO-YEON, YOU’RE JUST…”

A full-body panel gives the last word its own bubble:

“TRASH.”

Soo-yeon kneels behind her, unable to answer.

Strip 008 — Eun-ha had asked for mercy

Lim Han-rim steps into the confrontation.

“EUN-HA DIDN’T WANT YOU TO GET PUNISHED.”

Eun-ha sits on the floor nearby, exhausted after the match.

Lim explains:

“BECAUSE KANG SOO-YEON IS A TREASURE FOR WOMEN’S BASKETBALL…”

“SHE SAID THIS THING SHOULDN’T DISAPPEAR.”

Eun-ha had protected Soo-yeon’s career even after being abused because she believed Soo-yeon’s talent still mattered to the sport.

Strip 009 — The one wish

Lim says:

“THERE’S ONLY ONE THING THAT EUN-HA WANTED!”

Eun-ha looks directly at Soo-yeon.

“IT WAS PLAYING IN THE SAME TEAM AS YOU EVEN JUST ONCE!”

The wish is modest and painfully revealing. Eun-ha did not originally want the captain’s position, public revenge, or professional humiliation. She wanted to be acknowledged as a teammate.

Strip 010 — Lim refuses to forgive

Lim faces Soo-yeon.

“BUT EVEN IF EUN-HA FORGIVES YOU, I CAN’T LEAVE YOU ALONE.”

Soo-yeon reacts with a small exclamation.

Lim’s expression hardens.

“I’M SURE YOU’RE AWARE OF THIS.”

“YOU DON’T DESERVE TO BE A MEMBER OF THE NATIONAL TEAM.”

A dark close-up of Soo-yeon’s face carries the verdict:

“YOU DUG YOUR OWN GRAVE!”

Strip 011 — Official investigation

The scene changes to a formal briefing room. Lim stands before officials and reporters.

“…AS A RESULT OF THE INVESTIGATION, THE SCHOOL VIOLENCE AT SEUNGYEON HIGH SCHOOL WOMEN’S BASKETBALL TEAM…”

“IT WAS CONCLUDED THAT THE CAPTAIN KANG SOO-YEON WAS BEHIND IT.”

The investigation converts what the team had treated as private “discipline” into an official record of organized abuse.

Strip 012 — Sanctions and trial

Lim continues:

“THE KOREA BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION HAS RECEIVED THE INVESTIGATION RESULTS AND DISQUALIFIED KANG SOO-YEON AND KANG JA-YEON FROM THE NATIONAL TEAM.”

“THE TWO ARE CURRENTLY ON TRIAL IN JUVENILE COURT ON CHARGES OF ASSAULT.”

The sisters lose both athletic status and legal protection.

Before closing, Lim addresses aspiring athletes:

“BEFORE I END THIS BRIEFING…”

“LASTLY I WOULD LIKE TO ASK ATHLETES WHO DREAM OF BECOMING PROFESSIONALS.”

Strip 013 — A professional’s responsibility

Lim’s speech continues over images of Soo-yeon isolated and emotionally broken.

“IT’S NOT THE PLAYERS DUTY TO PLAY THE BEST.”

“WITH YOUR BEST PERFORMANCE…”

“TO ENTERTAIN AND IMPRESS THE AUDIENCE.”

A dark panel shows Soo-yeon curled up in a room, surrounded by discarded items and evidence of collapse.

“WHO CAN ENJOY THE PLAY…”

“OF A BROKEN PLAYER?”

The message is that athletic excellence cannot excuse destroying the people who make the game possible.

Strip 014 — The twentieth national competition

A venue sign reads:

“THE 20TH NATIONAL MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL WOMEN’S BASKETBALL”

A new game begins. Eun-ha, now wearing number 8, moves confidently against a team in pink uniforms.

A commentator says:

“IF SOMEONE LIKE HER WENT PROFESSIONAL…”

“SHE WOULD BE A STAR IN WOMEN’S BASKETBALL…”

Her hands snap around the ball, and she shoots with composed form.

Strip 015 — Eun-ha’s public emergence

Eun-ha scores. Spectators and officials react.

One observer asks:

“BY THE WAY, WHO IS THAT?”

Another identifies her as a highly promising high-school athlete. The small wording is partly obstructed, but the exchange presents Eun-ha as a newly visible national prospect.

A coach or evaluator remarks:

“SHE’S JUST AS GOOD AS KANG SOO-YEON?”

Eun-ha smiles awkwardly as teammates celebrate around her.

Strip 016 — Na watches the broadcast

The scene moves to a living room or office where Na Hwa-jin watches Lim’s televised briefing.

The television shows Lim in heavy broadcast makeup with her red hair visible.

Na jokes:

“WHY IS HER MAKEUP SO THICK? WHY IS HER HAIR RED AGAIN?”

He then reacts to the report about the teacher and basketball students:

“YOU CAUGHT A TEACHER AND NOW EVEN A KID?”

Lim appears on television angrily disputing accusations and false claims, while Na laughs at her performance.

Strip 017 — Lim returns to the agency

Lim enters the Teachers’ Rights Protection Agency office carrying a shoulder bag.

“I’M BACK.”

Na is sprawled casually with snacks.

He teases:

“WOW~ YOU LOOK GOOD ON SCREEN?”

Lim snaps:

“AH, COME ON! TURN IT OFF!”

She complains that she did not want to do the minister’s briefing and was so nervous that her voice trembled.

Na continues needling her about “entertaining and impressing the audience,” turning her own speech against her.

Strip 018 — Work quotas and the education document

The pair return to agency work. A PDF and paper documents are open.

Na dismisses some administrative material:

“THOSE THINGS ARE JUST A SETUP.”

“I’M LIVING SUCH A BUSY LIFE!”

The document explains that members must report performance and meet work quotas. A troubling passage states that if an uncontrollable student repeatedly disrupts the class, teachers may indirectly exclude or discourage that student to protect the educational environment.

Na’s expression changes.

“THIS…”

“IS REALLY SERIOUS.”

The language resembles institutional permission to isolate a child while describing the isolation as protection.

Strip 019 — Chey arrives with another case

Chey Kang-suk enters the office. Lim asks whether the next school has been chosen.

Na says he is still sorting the information.

Chey places a yellow folder on the desk.

“IF YOU HAVEN’T DECIDED, DO THIS FIRST!”

Na looks up in surprise.

Strip 020 — Chey’s childhood memory

Chey says that when he was young, the most frustrating part of school was anti-communist instruction and other ideological education.

A flashback evokes propaganda-like lessons and forced moral categories.

The chapter draws a connection between old political indoctrination and the new materials being used in elementary education.

Strip 021 — The new dossier

Lim examines a school-related video or file and asks whether the information is true.

Na and Chey review the material together.

Chey warns that elementary students are:

“THE FOUNDATION AND FUTURE OF THIS COUNTRY…”

His face is severe as he asks:

“WHAT KIND OF BRAINWASHING EDUCATION IS THIS?”

Strip 022 — “I am a discriminator”

The educational material shows a young girl made to kneel or stand while holding a sign:

“I AM A DISCRIMINATOR”

The visual resembles a public confession or punishment rather than a lesson.

The teacher in the footage tells the class:

“KIDS, SEE THAT?”

“YOU’RE A BAD KID IF YOU SAY THOSE RUDE WORDS AND PARTAKE IN THOSE BAD ACTIONS.”

The child’s humiliation is presented to the class as a teaching aid.

Strip 023 — Chey’s fury

Chey shouts:

“AS LONG AS CHOI KANG-SEOK IS THE MINISTER!”

The scanlation uses the name “Choi Kang-seok” here despite earlier chapters identifying him as Chey Kang-suk; the wording is preserved as printed.

“I CAN NEVER ALLOW THIS SHIT TO HAPPEN!”

His anger is aimed at education that creates obedience through public shame.

Strip 024 — The teacher’s doctrine

The woman in the footage smiles while crossing her arms.

“EVEN IF YOU’RE DISCRIMINATED AGAINST, THERE’S NOTHING TO SAY!”

“CATCH THE INSTIGATOR RIGHT AWAY!”

The statement treats accusation itself as proof and encourages children to identify and punish an “instigator.”

The chapter closes by positioning Na and Lim against a school where moral education has become coercive ideological policing.

Strip 025 — End card

The YLAB mark and scanlation end material close the chapter.

Chapter-level observations

1. Eun-ha wins because she paid attention

The match exposes an asymmetry. Eun-ha knew every element of Soo-yeon’s game because admiration made her study. Soo-yeon’s contempt prevented her from understanding Eun-ha.

2. Forgiveness does not erase consequences

Eun-ha’s desire to preserve Soo-yeon’s talent does not persuade Lim to overlook the abuse. The chapter distinguishes personal forgiveness from institutional accountability.

3. Athletic performance is defined as relational

Lim argues that a professional’s work is not isolated individual excellence. It exists to move an audience and depends on teammates who remain whole enough to participate.

4. The next arc shifts from physical violence to ideological coercion

The elementary-school material uses morally righteous language but reproduces the same power pattern: one authority decides who is “bad,” isolates the target, and teaches everyone else to participate.
