Strip 001 — Cover and credits

The Imperfect Comics title page identifies Chapter 42 and lists scanlation staff.

Strip 002 — Fiction disclaimer and an urgent call

A disclaimer states that the story is fictional.

A well-dressed man stands alone in a bright apartment, phone to his ear.

“CHIEF, I’M SORRY. I DON’T THINK I CAN GO TO WORK TODAY.”

His posture is stiff, and he is already dressed for the office, suggesting that something discovered that morning abruptly changed his plans.

Strip 003 — Work threat

His superior shouts through the phone:

“HEY! MR. SHIN ARE YOU CRAZY? THE IPO IS THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW… DO YOU WANT TO GET FIRED?!”

A translator’s note explains that an IPO is the process of offering shares of a private corporation to the public.

Mr. Shin apologizes but does not reverse his decision.

Strip 004 — Something more important

Mr. Shin holds a child’s illustrated school diary.

“I HAVE SOMETHING MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE COMPANY.”

The cover identifies the owner as:

“3-2 SHIN SUMI”

His superior continues calling after him, but Mr. Shin has stopped listening.

Strip 005 — Sumi’s diary

The panels shift into fragments of Sumi’s handwritten account and memories.

She recalls being surrounded or confronted by classmates who call her:

“A DISCRIMINATOR—”

Children point, crowd her, and repeat the label. Sumi crouches beside classroom storage, clutching her head.

Mr. Shin reads with growing shock.

“IS THIS REAL?”

A legible section of the diary says, in substance, that she did not agree with what the teacher said in class, told the teacher she thought differently, was called a discriminator, and then became an outcast. The handwriting contains additional small text that cannot be confirmed completely at this resolution.

Strip 006 — Na and Lim head to the school

A red vehicle speeds through the city.

Lim shouts:

“WOW. I’M GETTING MAD JUST FROM THINKING ABOUT IT!”

Na, seated beside her with a tablet, says:

“CALM DOWN AND LOOK FORWARD!”

He tells her the situation also creates an opportunity for teachers to inject their own ideas.

Lim reacts:

“WHAT?! OUTCAST GROUP LEADER? THEY’RE REALLY CRAZY!”

Strip 007 — “Stir the grass”

Na shows Lim a leaked or anonymous report.

A proverb-like line explains the strategy:

“STIR THE GRASS AND STARTLE THE SNAKE.”

“A SNAKE WILL POP OUT.”

The document discusses gender-equality education and allegations that students who resist are isolated or targeted. Some small body text is too fine to transcribe reliably.

Lim asks:

“BUT HOW DO WE CATCH THEM?”

Na remains confident that the public leak will cause the responsible teacher to reveal herself.

Strip 008 — Teacher Yang’s morning

At school, Teacher Yang Sang-hee sits at a computer in the teachers’ office. She wears large round glasses and a green dress.

She stretches:

“EUUUNG~ MORNING WORK IS DONE!”

A notification appears on her screen. The page includes a teacher-community post and a message about the education material being criticized.

Strip 009 — Coworker warning

A colleague approaches.

“TEACHER CHANMI, ARE WE GUILTY? WHY ARE YOU SENDING ME A MESSAGE LIKE THAT?”

The colleague explains:

“NO, IT’S JUST…”

“IT’S BECAUSE PEOPLE SAY IT’S BRAINWASHING EDUCATION SO BE CAREFUL…”

Yang is offended by the term.

“BRAINWASHING? WHAT KIND OF BRAINWASHING?!”

The staff member’s cautious posture contrasts with Yang’s confidence.

Strip 010 — Yang’s self-image

Yang leaves the office carrying folders.

“WE’RE HERE TO MAKE A WORLD WITHOUT DISCRIMINATION.”

“WE’RE MAKING A NOBLE EFFORT.”

She sees herself as a reformer under attack, not as someone whose methods might harm children.

Na and Lim approach from the corridor.

“EXCUSE ME.”

Strip 011 — The visitors identify themselves

Na holds up identification.

“WE’RE HERE FROM THE TEACHER’S RIGHTS PROTECTION AGENCY.”

Yang freezes.

Na asks:

“IS TEACHER YANG SANG-HEE HERE?”

Lim stands beside him, smiling politely.

Strip 012 — A flattering cover story

Yang asks why they came.

Na says:

“WHEN WE GUIDED THE STUDENTS…”

“THERE WAS AN ISSUE FOR GENDER DISCRIMINATION…”

“WE HEARD THAT MRS. YANG IS AN EXPERT IN THIS FIELD.”

“WE WERE HOPING TO GET SOME LESSONS FROM HER, IS THAT POSSIBLE?”

Yang’s suspicion disappears. She touches her cheek with pleased surprise.

“OH MY~ THEN YOU’VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE.”

“FOLLOW ME, I’LL TAKE YOU TO THE CLASS.”

Strip 013 — Entering the classroom

Na and Lim sit at the front or side of an elementary classroom while Yang conducts a lesson.

Lim whispers:

“ISN’T THIS TOO EASY?”

Na watches rather than answering. The ease with which praise gained access confirms that Yang wants recognition for her method.

Strip 014 — A reconstructed fairy tale

A child reads a rewritten version of the woodcutter-and-fairy story.

“WHEN THE WINGSUIT DISAPPEARED, THE FAIRY WAS EMBARRASSED.”

“THEN A WOODCUTTER APPEARED AND SAID,”

“I’LL RETURN YOUR WINGSUIT IF YOU MARRY AND HAVE A CHILD WITH ME.”

“THEN THE FAIRY SAID,”

A furious child in the illustration shouts:

“WHY DON’T YOU JUST SHUT UP!!”

The modernized story explicitly frames the woodcutter’s demand as coercive.

Strip 015 — Yang’s rationale

Yang explains:

“TRADITIONAL FAIRY TALES ARE LITERALLY PASSED DOWN FROM MOUTH TO MOUTH.”

“SHOULDN’T WE KEEP IT AS IT IS?”

She then answers her own rhetorical question by arguing that the woodcutter should be embarrassed and follow the fairy if he expects marriage and children.

“TRADITIONAL FAIRY TALES HAVE SOME OLD-FASHIONED DISCRIMINATION THAT DOESN’T FIT THIS CURRENT ERA.”

“THAT’S WHY I TEACH FAIRY TALES THAT ARE RECONSTRUCTED FROM A MODERN PERSPECTIVE.”

Lim quietly acknowledges that it could be educational, while questioning the simplification.

Strip 016 — Gender-role examples

Yang shows images of men in trousers and women in skirts.

“LOOK AT THIS AD. MEN WEAR PANTS AND WOMEN WEAR SKIRTS RIGHT?”

“THE MEDIA ARE UNCONSCIOUSLY FORCING US TO ACT IN OUR GENDER ROLES.”

A boy apologizes after giving an answer Yang dislikes.

“I’M… SORRY.”

The classroom already feels less like discussion than a search for the answer the teacher wants.

Strip 017 — Correction through education

Yang says:

“CHILDREN OFTEN EXPRESS DISCRIMINATION IN THEIR DAILY LIVES.”

“THEY ARE PURE. BUT THAT’S WHY YOU DON’T REALISE WHAT YOU’RE SAYING IS WRONG…”

“EVENTUALLY, EDUCATION MUST CORRECT IT.”

Na watches with a neutral face, allowing Yang to continue revealing her assumptions.

Strip 018 — The marked child

Na points toward a short-haired girl.

“HEY, WHY IS THAT CHILD THE ONLY ONE WEARING THAT?”

The child’s white shirt bears the handwritten words:

“I am a discriminator”

Yang asks:

“AH, ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT SUMI?”

She says Sumi had shown strong resistance to class policy.

“THEREFORE A STRONGER IMPACT IS NEEDED FOR HER TO GET BACK ON TRACK.”

The public label is presented as treatment.

Strip 019 — Na recognizes the contradiction

Lim’s eyes widen as Yang explains.

Her internal reaction is printed in jagged bubbles:

“YOU TEACH ABOUT DISCRIMINATION BUT…”

“YOU DISCRIMINATE AGAINST PEOPLE BECAUSE THEY DON’T LISTEN TO YOU?”

“NOW I UNDERSTAND WHY THIS PERSON FELL FOR NA SUNBAE’S TRICK.”

“THIS PERSON DOESN’T KNOW HOW CONTRADICTORY SHE IS.”

Yang claps and praises the children:

“GOOD JOB KIDS, THAT’S HOW YOU DO IT~”

Strip 020 — Mr. Shin arrives

Mr. Shin appears at the classroom door, sweating and furious.

Sumi looks toward him:

“DAD…”

He asks:

“IS IT TRUE? THE THINGS MY DAUGHTER WROTE HERE?”

He holds up the diary.

The room goes silent.

Strip 021 — The accusation

Mr. Shin says:

“I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU’RE CALLING AN ELEMENTARY STUDENT A DISCRIMINATOR!”

“APOLOGISE TO SUMI RIGHT NOW AND GET RID OF THAT SKETCHBOOK!”

Yang folds her arms and refuses.

“WE’RE IN THE MIDDLE OF CLASS, PLEASE LEAVE.”

She argues that the class has a different teaching style and that the parent lacks the capacity or common sense to understand it.

Strip 022 — Privacy and contempt

Mr. Shin replies:

“AND YOU DIDN’T DO ANYTHING RIGHT EITHER.”

“PEEKING AT A GIRL’S DIARY… ISN’T IT A SHAMELESS INVASION OF PRIVACY?”

Yang shifts the attack onto him.

“AH, YOU’RE THE STUDENT’S ‘PARENT’ RIGHT…?”

A dark, mocking close-up accompanies:

“YOU’RE DIVORCED AND RAISING THEM ALONE RIGHT?”

Strip 023 — Personal humiliation

Yang smiles cruelly.

“I SEE, THE HUSBAND IS SUCH A SELF RIGHTEOUS PERSON.”

“NO WONDER YOU’RE DIVORCED.”

Mr. Shin’s eye trembles. Sumi stands nearby, forced to hear her family used as evidence against her father.

Yang’s “anti-discrimination” lesson has turned into open class-based and family-status contempt.

Strip 024 — Lim slaps Yang

Mr. Shin surges forward, but Na grabs and restrains him.

A sharp impact SFX fills the panel as Lim strikes Yang across the face instead.

Yang is thrown sideways, glasses flying and cheek deforming from the blow.

Mr. Shin cries out:

“WHAT THE?! YOU…!”

Na warns him:

“IF YOU HIT HER THEN IT’S A CLEAR VIOLATION OF THE TEACHER’S PROTECTION RIGHTS.”

Strip 025 — “Leave that to us”

Lim stands over Yang with a cold expression.

“LEAVE THAT TO US.”

Na keeps Mr. Shin from committing an act that would make him legally vulnerable, while Lim uses the agency’s authority to confront the teacher directly.

The chapter ends on Yang’s shocked, injured face.

Strip 026 — Scanlation end material

Promotional and recruitment material closes the release.

Chapter-level observations

1. Sumi’s punishment is collective

The shirt or sketchbook does more than shame her privately. It teaches every classmate to treat the teacher’s label as social permission to exclude her.

2. Yang’s ideology and conduct conflict

She condemns gender and social prejudice while insulting a divorced father and punishing a child for dissent. The contradiction is not incidental; it demonstrates that moral language can conceal ordinary cruelty.

3. Na’s deception is diagnostic

Na does not immediately accuse Yang. He flatters her expertise and lets her voluntarily display the full method. Her pride supplies the evidence.

4. Lim prevents the parent from being trapped

Mr. Shin’s anger is justified, but striking a protected teacher would shift the legal focus onto him. Na restrains him, and Lim assumes responsibility for the confrontation.
