The chapter discusses coordinated ideological pressure on teachers and students, resignation, shame, political protests, and a neglected child stealing food.
Images 001–004 — The SD card exposes the network¶
News reports announce that the TRPA investigation has uncovered a coordinated online community connected to the elementary-school controversy.
The recovered records include:
- ranked chatrooms for senior members;
- training information about the group’s worldview;
- files identifying schools and teachers;
- and instructions for managing dissenting students and parents.
The community appears to contain roughly ten to thirty senior members in each rank.
A senior teacher at another school reportedly confessed that she did not know the identities of everyone above her.
The Ministry creates a dedicated investigative team.
Images 005–012 — Sanghui attempts to disappear¶
Sanghui packs her belongings after submitting her resignation.
Other staff members say goodbye uneasily.
Na arrives and helps carry a box.
He says he hopes she does not think he came to mock her.
Sanghui admits that, until the confrontation, she never doubted the direction she had taken.

Then she corrects herself.
The online members did influence her, but she was still an adult who chose to impose the ideas on children.
She says she feels so disgusted with herself that she wants to disappear from the students’ sight forever.
Images 013–24 — The students’ farewell letters¶
Na asks whether resignation is the only thing she can do for her students.
Several children run toward Sanghui in the parking area.
They hand her farewell letters.
Some messages contain anger or blunt criticism.
Others thank her for lessons that did help them think about fairness.
Somi’s note says the experience made her reflect more deeply on equality, even though the fighting hurt.
Sanghui begins crying.
She apologizes repeatedly and embraces the children.
The letters do not erase the harm.
They remind her that responsibility may require remaining present long enough to repair relationships rather than vanishing in shame.
Images 025–031 — The Ministry investigates nationwide¶
Na formally rejects Sanghui’s immediate resignation because the school and Ministry must first complete their review.
Instead, a disciplinary committee suspends her for approximately three months.
The Ministry distributes surveys to students and parents nationwide to identify similar ideological coercion.
Because the online site has not been fully revealed to the public, some civic organizations denounce the investigation as fabricated.
Protesters gather outside the Ministry.
They accuse Minister Choi Gang-seok of:
- inventing a secret website;
- restricting the right to education;
- and undermining gender equality.
Choi says the government will begin a complete investigation rather than settle the issue through slogans.
Images 032–36 — The operators become harder to find¶
Na and Hanrim discuss the technical problem.
The site is hosted through overseas servers and is not easily traceable.
The operators have already begun deleting evidence and abandoning accounts.
Na says secrecy also weakens them.
Once members no longer know whom to trust, the hierarchy loses some of its power.
Hanrim believes the remaining organizers may still be dangerous.
The investigation will continue beyond the school case.
Images 034–043 — A hungry child in a convenience store¶
During the drive, Na asks Hanrim to stop at a convenience store so he can buy cigarettes before entering the highway.
Inside, he notices a small bruised boy stealing bread and snacks.
The child is thin, dirty, and eating with desperate speed.
Na buys banana milk and additional food.
He approaches gently and tells the boy to drink.
The child initially freezes, expecting punishment.
Then he grabs the food and runs.
Na follows into the alley.
Images 044–046 — “There’s a situation”¶
Na calls Sergeant Im or another police contact while watching the child crouch behind a wall and eat.
He says a minor is involved and that the situation appears serious.
The boy’s face and body show bruising inconsistent with an ordinary fall.
The chapter ends with Na looking toward him.
The ideological-school investigation gives way to a case where the danger is hidden inside a home.
