Reader page 1 — Yeri rides with the female helper¶
Han Yeri sits in the passenger seat while the female “helper” drives.
The woman says she ran away from home at fifteen and survived alone. Because of that history, she claims to understand girls who cannot return to their families.
She says she now helps only female runaways.
The story is carefully designed to counter every warning Yoo-jung gave her sister: this adult is a woman, presents herself as a former runaway, and offers a house without men.
Reader page 2 — The helper recognizes Yoon-jung¶
Yeri shows a photograph of Oh Yoon-jung.
She describes the girl as a friend’s younger sister whose phone cannot be reached.
The helper studies the image and says she knows her.
“OH YOON-JUNG?”
She claims Yoon-jung is currently staying at her house.
Yeri conceals her reaction and continues acting like another runaway seeking shelter.

They enter a rundown multi-room house.
Several teenage girls greet Yeri and comment on how pretty she is.
No adult men are visible. The interior is messy but warm, with bedding, food, and girls moving casually between rooms.
Yeri repeatedly asks where Yoon-jung is.
She is told that Yoon-jung went out to meet a friend or perform work and will return later.
The vagueness is the first obvious warning sign.

A girl around Yeri’s apparent age introduces herself as Park Seol-young.
She tells Yeri to relax and says everyone in the house has been through similar things.
The girls prepare kimchi stew together.
The shared meal, informal conversation, and absence of visible men create the atmosphere of a chosen family.
Yeri briefly notes that the place feels almost too comfortable.

Yeri has used a similar social technique herself: soften the expression, lower the target’s guard, and strike only after they believe they are safe.
She therefore treats the warmth as evidence rather than reassurance.
She eats, watches the room, and pretends to become sleepy.
The other girls interpret her calmness as successful recruitment.

Late at night, several girls quietly enter the room where Yeri appears to be sleeping.
They discuss taking compromising photographs and using them for blackmail.
One says drugs are unnecessary. Hungry runaways naturally become exhausted after receiving food and a safe bed.
They call Yeri an “A-level” girl and want to act quickly because her appearance makes her valuable.
The house’s hospitality is revealed as the first stage of control.

The girls mention Yoon-jung.
She was struck because she disobeyed orders and has been sent out to “work” with an uncle or customer.
Her injured face makes some appointments difficult, but the operation still uses her.
Yeri opens her eyes.
She has heard enough to confirm that the missing girl is alive and being exploited.

When the door opens fully, the girls discover that Yeri is not helpless.
Several members of the house are already unconscious or injured around her.
Yeri sits calmly among them.
She identifies the scheme: food, emotional trust, photographs, threats, and forced work.
The recruits were once runaway victims, but some now help the adult handler trap newcomers.

Male gang members or associates enter after hearing the disturbance.
They attempt to overwhelm Yeri.
She uses a stun device and close-range fighting to break their formation.
The residence is not truly a women-only sanctuary. Men remain available as force whenever the operation needs enforcement.
Reader pages 10–11 — The leader treats children as products¶
Elsewhere in the building, the female leader discusses the age and condition of the girls.
She asks whether a middle-school student is acceptable to a customer and complains about faces being damaged.
Her companion notes that some clients specifically seek children.
The woman answers that these “crazy customers” keep the operation fed.
The dialogue removes the last pretense of rescue. The house is an organized commercial exploitation network.

The leader assumes Yeri is isolated.
Lim Han-rim arrives as backup.
A powerful kick launches the woman through glass or into a wall.
Lim’s appearance confirms that Yeri’s infiltration was monitored and supported rather than improvised alone.
Yeri smiles amid the defeated recruits and associates.
The chapter closes with the agency preparing to move through the organization room by room and locate Yoon-jung.
